What gets me is that we had unprecedented supervision over their nuclear program, from the time it's dug out of the ground, to its waste disposal after it was used, down to the specs of the nuts and bolts used in their centrifuges. Then Trump gets in office and pulls out of the agreement, and immediately starts drafting up plans to strike their nuclear infrastructure. This was in 2018. This is what 8 years of planning looks like for them.
Unfortunately, the 24th amendment only says "tax." If it's not a "tax" then it's not illegal. Legally speaking, fees aren't taxes. Plus, most (all?) states that require IDs provide free IDs to avoid these legal issues, but it's still an extra hurdle with extra costs associated, like taking an extra day off, transportation, getting a copy of your birth certificate, etc.I completely agree it's unlawful in regard to the spirit of the law, but it's not illegal in regard to the letter of the law.
It feels like I've been waiting forever. The deadline the Hennepin County Attorney's Office gave the DOJ and DHS to provide the evidence they requested for state-level charges passed three fucking weeks ago. The FBI also ignored the Minnesota's Bureau of Criminal Apprehension's demands for evidence as well. Instead, the DOJ said back then that the FBI will investigate the DHS. An executive agency hired an executive agency to investigate an executive agency and we haven't heard anything since.
Funding the TSA would give them more leverage. The TSA being unfunded is disrupting air travel, generating public pressure against the shutdown. Public pressure is what made them cave last shutdown. But if the TSA gets funded, then then Rs have no public pressure backing them when it's just ICE.
Friday, he spent all day flip flopping between "we want a ceasefire" and "we DON'T want a ceasefire" in a single press briefing. Then MINUTES after the futures markets shut down for the weekend and markets couldn't react, he tweeted "we're winding down our military efforts," adding a "total resolution of hostilities" tweet over the weekendThe instability dropped prices. The market closing locked them in. They shot up opening day after a weekend of positivity. Free money.
Democrats introduced a bill to fund the rest of the DHS while they negotiate over ICE/CBP without any concession whatsoever. This would include the TSA, FEMA, the Coast Guard, and the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency.Republicans blocked these bills. This could be over right now. All they'd have to do is say yes.
Palantir's software is used by the both ICE and US military to help identify targets, and after Anthropic refused to allow the military to use their AI for autonomous weapons (an AI choosing who to shoot and when to pull the trigger), they're likely to fill the gap and gain ground.Thiel is also future president Vance's largest donor. Vance has personally described Thiel as a "mentor."Palantir wants to be the "US government's central operating system" and that reality inches closer every day.
Peter Thiel also says that "technology is an incredible alternative to politics" to "unilaterally change the world without having to constantly convince people and beg people and plead with people who are never going to agree with you."He's talking about democracy. He's saying Libertarians can't get elected (wonder why) so they have to subvert democracy, which he believes is "no longer compatible" with freedom, saying "capitalist democracy" fell in the 1920s due to welfare and women's suffrage
Hey, this is a great idea, what if we took it to other posts too? At some random point during the day, we could each look through usersub newest for someone posting their art or some other project and tell them how much we liked it or how cool we think it is
Too bad they're rolling back subsidies for solar and renewables, making the criteria for tax credits more strict, freezing permits and pausing agencies related to solar farms, and limiting the amount of federal land available for wind and solar. They HAVE tried to write more flexible requirements for radiation exposure levels in DOE O 458.1, though so that's.... good? Wait, is it?
I found changing my diet to be easiest (least hard) when I looked at it through the lens of "dieting is done at the store." Meaning, don't buy the sugary or carby stuff and it won't constantly be sitting there tempting me all the time. No impulse buys. If I go out, I deliberate over what I will get before I leave instead of making my choice with all the delicious smells influencing me.As for exercising, here's Terry Crews' advice about going to the gym:
Wow a wild 633k spotted. Hope you've been doing okay.
It's really awesome that you have family you feel safe taking this to.I just wanna say, I love your posts, and I've learned enough from them that I have a starting point to talk to my autistic nephew about his interest in small exotic pets. He was gifted a small iguana enclosure for an orchid mantis he wanted to get, and I was like "Don't you need a smaller one?" because I remembered a comment of yours about it stressing spiders out. So we got him a smaller one.
i dunno i feel like this is more accurate
looks uncomfortable
It's not always about a man's own ideals of masculinity being toxic. It's also about toxic ideals of masculinity being projected onto a person by others, including by women. Sometimes that sounds like "man up," other times it sounds like devaluing femininity ("you throw like a girl"), but oftentimes, it's quiet, subtle, and insidious, like in the OP. And women are just as capable of engaging in it as men.
#7 tons of shelters have doggy-day-out programs and if you're the type to post or enjoy this meme you should definitely look into them
You wouldn't expect someone to be able to, like, sit at a piano for the first time and play something amazing, would you? And even once learn, it wouldn't be reasonable to expect every song they used to be one of your favorites.I feel like that's the expectation you've put on yourself. It's gonna take time, just like learning piano, both learning the skill and learning her needs/tastes. You're not falling short, you're learning. Please go easy on yourself.
That's *kinda* what happened
I have astigmatism and just got my first pair of glasses recently, and mine took a lot of getting used to for me too. Fun fact I learned from this experience: when you tilt your head to the side, your eyes rotate counter to that motion to stay level. In my case, that means my eyes go out of alignment with my glasses and everything goes blurry for a second. The lenses also squish everything a little tiny bit, so I'll be washing the dishes and the plate'll look ever-so-slightly oval. It's weird.
Who could ever, ever ask for more?
#9 Even if "looking left = lying" was true, every brain is weird and different and what's mostly true for a lot of people is rarely universally true for literally everyone, so if you were to meet someone who it WASN'T true for and think THIS GUY'S LYING, that's not really fair, so maybe we shouldn't?
Back before the US had a centralized national bank and states were in charge of themselves, banks were all making their own bank notes. Nominally, they were worth X amount of dollars, but they were often traded at a discounted value if there was a lack of trust. So, effectively, there were thousands of different currencies and nobody ever knew, for sure, if the ones they owned would be worth anything in the future.Good thing we learned from that and never ever did it again
Nothing has ever instilled in me as much a sense of wonder as neopets
