nobody has any idea what is coming, but that doesn't mean we will be wearing cow collars!

3 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They'll probably not even have to use a collar for most people, just draw a line where phone service cuts out.

3 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If it goes that far, then fucking bring it. Wolverines.

oh brother

3 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I’m so glad he’s creating the pedo prison collar. Mf thinks we won’t put HIM and his friends in that shit?

Collect his balls.

.... I'm finally starting to see the appeal of buying a gun and going off to homestead in the woods.

Peter Thiel also says that "technology is an incredible alternative to politics" to "unilaterally change the world without having to constantly convince people and beg people and plead with people who are never going to agree with you."

He's talking about democracy. He's saying Libertarians can't get elected (wonder why) so they have to subvert democracy, which he believes is "no longer compatible" with freedom, saying "capitalist democracy" fell in the 1920s due to welfare and women's suffrage

"technology is an incredible alternative to politics". He's absolutely right. And that doesn't mean that he's somehow invulnerable to it, and the only person that can wield said technology. But he'll be the first to cry foul if someone tries to use it against him.

Palantir's software is used by the both ICE and US military to help identify targets, and after Anthropic refused to allow the military to use their AI for autonomous weapons (an AI choosing who to shoot and when to pull the trigger), they're likely to fill the gap and gain ground.

Thiel is also future president Vance's largest donor. Vance has personally described Thiel as a "mentor."

Palantir wants to be the "US government's central operating system" and that reality inches closer every day.

I think this might be a bit much. It's like when Farage got hit with a milkshake, and people were like... "What if it was a brick!?"

Well, it wasn't a brick! It was a milkshake. Similarly, if the collars were on human beings, this would be *horrible*. But it's on *cows.*

3 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Don't carry a phone. It's not that difficult.

3 days ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

We allready have a collar, it's just in our pockets instead of around our necks

3 days ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Soon only your videogames will be open world

3 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'd just like to point out that the actual technology here is being developed by a number of different companies, has been around for a few years, and will result in much better rangeland management in wide swaths of open range, reducing erosion and desertification. I think mostly this is just exactly what it says on the tin, it's going to be a big business as the deployable tower technology improves. But fuck Thiel with a rusty spork. Every Palantir employee is an enemy of humanity.

The relationship with Thiel is gross and 100% agree that this was already in development. Being able to track animals like this has benefits for animal management and welfare at what could be a reasonable cost per animal so places may actually adopt it. Just cause the fascists could use it doesn't mean we should stop advancements that could better the world

Peter Thiel is the anti-Christ.

He has to be.

Maybe they already train the population through phones & smart watches. Like maybe they emit high frequency or low frequency noise that you can't hear but it makes you feel uncomfortable enough to avoid certain behaviors.
Then realize how many people here are both anti-authoritarian but also don't want to leave the house nor interact with people. These things are necessary for creating a movement to topple governments...
So maybe they already control you.

I remember sci-fi books, etc, with this, except 'straying' too far resulted in an instant headache cure..

3 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

None of this technology is even remotely new though... AI is the newest part and isn't even required to set up telemetry, boundaries, or health statistics.

Med Ship Man by Murray Leinster: "Calhoun arrives on the planet Maya for a routine inspection but finds the entire civilization abandoned. He discovers the inhabitants fled in fear due to the misuse of a "cattle-induction field" that caused immense pain." Good book

Oh I read this one! A great sci-fi thriller called parable of the sower. Damn Octavia butler was way ahead of her time!

3 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

We need to kill and butcher Peter thiel and everyone at palantir

3 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

yeah, sorry, this is waaaaaay too conspiratorial to be taken seriously. Cows can't take off or turn off their collars, for starters.

3 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I definitely get the sense that we are on the cusp of being fucked to a brand new degree nobody ever thought of before, and a lot of people seem to think the same basic rules of society that have existed since time immemorial are going to persist indefinitely, which is probably less than ideal in the current moment.

3 days ago | Likes 129 Dislikes 0

This is why I resisted phones and the fit bit wearablea baffle me. I had to relent eventually to continue participating in society. We've been livestock for a long time tho. Esp women and poc.

2 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

there were a few authors of dystopian future stories that knew what was coming but no one would believe them. here's an even worse one, actually virtually all, the Robots novels by or in the Isaac Asimov universe. give the oligarchs enough time and robots (they're coming) and you'll have Earth but as a Space World. look it up.

On the bright side when the world finally burns we all get to burn with it. Sadly, there are a stupid amount of people that seem to think they'll be immune when the world burns. Too bad no one will be around to scream I told you so.

The basic rules of society is "the elite become mulch if they push the people too hard"

3 days ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 1

The elite are currently developing innovative new ways to make sure organization simply isn't possible, which is exactly what I mean. When they break everyone down to an isolated individual, that's it. People turn inward, keep their heads down, and just focus on their own survival. We can already observe that phenomenon in society as it is.

3 days ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I don't see any elite being mulched.

The Fallout style explosive slave collars are coming.

3 days ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

according to a interview a few years back when the rich were starting to build bunkers. They discussed use of these to control the security. Afterall they have the guns, how do you stop them becoming the bunkers lord and master.

3 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Well... This has been possible and has been done in other contexts for a really long time (there are GPS trackers for dogs and cats for example for which you can set up a "virtual fence", which just informs the owner if the pet wanders to an area they are not supposed to), so I wouldn't draw too huge conclusions from this. Additionally, many people have been carrying devices in their pockets that enable this for almost 20 years now.

3 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm not a fan of Thiel either. But my point is that the possibilities for control over individuals using technology have been existing for a very long time.

3 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

All the "God, guns, and country" people will be the first to drop to their knees begging for the first collars.

3 days ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 1

It's incredible to me how the psyop hardwired hypocrisy into their doctrine. My fundie adoptive father used to sit me down as a kid and tell me all the ways the (then Democrat lead) government was going to put "the mark of the beast" on us and make us submit to their will. How when the time comes, we had to head to the mountains and fight for our lives as Armageddon took place. Now he is a full blown MAGA, donates part of his salary directly to the Trump's & worships his every word.

3 days ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Sorry to hear you're dealing with that. I, by pure dumb luck, cut my hypocrite, Florida evangelical family out of my life in 2015. I check Facebook every now and then, and, yep, all MAGA freaks.

3 days ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I cut mine off as well, years ago now ╮(. ❛ ᴗ ❛.)╭ some disowned me, some I outright blocked and deleted lol. Life's been so much more peaceful without their hateful perspectives

I'm glad you found your peace! My only regret is not doing it years sooner.

The right wants to enslave us

3 days ago | Likes 77 Dislikes 1

The *whites* want to enslave us...again.

2 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No the rich want to enslave us and the right are just a bunch of useful idiots they can use to make it happen.

3 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They are still pissed about 1865

3 days ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

So… Will this cow/person algorithm heard me towards a Burger King with a coupon?

2 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Load up on guns

3 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

also many people on the right apparently love the idea of being enslaved. Lennox and Stewart were right.

3 days ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

They don't see it as a prison, they see it as a safe space.

3 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's not that they want to but they already are and always have. It's just that they are expanding the program.

3 days ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

They also want to enslave themselves, but they're too fucking braindead to realize they'll be the first victims. As long as someone else has it as bad as they do.

3 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The end result of capitalism is, necessarily, Monopoly and Slavery.

3 days ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Yep. Once you've made things efficient and buy materials at the cheapest price How else do you save money? The only thing left is labor.

3 days ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Its also what that insane amount of concentrated wealth is really about after the maximum standard of living is achieved and material desire becomes irrelevant. It's about power, the power to control and dictate outcomes for the rest of us so that we are forced to acquiesce to the oligarchy's desire to control us. The exploitation itself is no longer just to generate more, but to prevent us from from ever being able to rell them "No, that is not what is best for the majority of us" ever again.

3 days ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The rich, they just happen to be mostly conservative/fascist. They will gladly enslave lower socioeconomic groups regardless of political alignment. Everyone should be fighting against the oligarchy and fascism. Unfortunately conservatives are far too ignorant to see things out long term, so as long as they get to hate minorities they are complacent.

3 days ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

I love when people say its not Right vs. Left, its the 1% vs. the rest of us. Congratulations dumbass, thats exactly what right vs left has always been about, you stupid ass mother fucker. God damn you're fucking stupid.

3 days ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The idea that they can hurt and exploit people without reprocussions is the biggest lie. Taking from other people is the only thing they know how to do and the right believes it. Who's gonna pay for that wall? Mexico! Who's gonna pay the tarrifs? Other countries! Who's gonna give up their rights so men can feel strong? Women! Who's gonna give up their freedom so they don't get angry? The LBGT community! Everything they want comes from someone else!

3 days ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Ok, I don't disagree with the premise of all things skeptical of these people, but this isn't new technology. We've been training dogs this way for invisible fencing for decades, including the vibration and sound of a collar when approaching a boundary, arbitrary or fixed.

3 days ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

Yeah, I'm more staring at the $2B valuation for already proven tech. There's nothing new about it. You could do this with dog collars, a better radio, and a databricks stack in the barn.

3 days ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

what's new is the degree of tracking and data consolidation, that's the beta testing, not the collars

3 days ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

We also track dogs this way, I've been doing this a long time. This isn't radically new, so it is nefarious or just tech bros slapping AI in front of existing technology and saying they invented something. Or both, knowing Thiel.

3 days ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Why is a company getting a $2B valuation for this though… investors are climbing on top of each other to get in on it

3 days ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

That's probably the interesting part. $2B for something that's existed for decades just because someone slapped AI in front of it?

3 days ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Might be possible that theyre trying to keep the AI bubble alive as a profit engine whilst they pursue other things (or to just avoid losing their money). Not to say that the idea of using this tech as a mass surveillance/control system holds no water, but it also might not be their primary vector. After all, if the above is what they want, why not just use social media algorithms, geolocation data, and their media enterprises to do the same in a much less obvious fashion? It neednt be linear.
