I have several cameras set up in my kitten room to keep an eye on my pregnant foster mama cat Bobbie. This one is right in front of her favorite spot. She senses when I turn it on
I obsessively check on her all day and night
And she knows it

The lens aperture makes noise when it comes out of standby to focus. They CAN hear it. My cat knows when I turn the camera on, and he's camera shy.

I'd love to start a poll on the mix. Cats tend to have a lot of different coats in the same litter. My bet is 2 voids, 3 tuxedo, and a loan grey. I think orange is recessive, but I didn't do the research.

Those cameras put off infrared the cats can't see infrared but they can probably tell when the camera is on
