Make these 2 dots become 3, (it takes patience), keep focusing and you will see 3D images in each picture below.

Canary?

Loaf of Bread?

Jack-O-Lantern?

Angry Cloud?

The most magic one of all

Please advise. When I do it they're inverted. They pop away from me instead or toward me.

i see them inside out like the back side of a mask -_-

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

SORCERY!

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

should have put one up that didn't actually have anything in it.

11 years ago | Likes 43 Dislikes 0

I can't see anything in the rainbow one... It might just be the bad acid, though.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Pretty sure that's all of them

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I would argue the first one, since wtf is that? A stick? A handle? WHAT.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

whenever I go cross-eyed I see the image inverted

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

HOLY CRAP! I FUCKING SEE IT, IT WORKED!! THANKS TO ALL THAT SUGGESTED CROSSING YOUR EYES!! YA'LL THE REAL MVPS!

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Usually when I use the cross my eyes method, I see the inverted image. The images are supposed to pop out, not appear as grooves.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I... Have never... Been able to do these.... I gots the stoopid eye I think.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I had a book of these when I was a kid. My teacher looked at me like I was nuts when I said there were pictures in them.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I can instantly make these work for me, but it's always been inverted for me since I was 12, stuff looks embedded instead of popping out :(

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

It sure has been a while since I last intentionally gave myself a migraine to see hidden pictures

11 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 0

idk how you did it, but +1 fo rthe last one

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I love these! We have a book with many of these illustrations, it's been a while since I looked at these. Hurts my eyes now...

11 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

"Takes practice" please I make magic eye my bitch. DNA easy. Heart, done. Dolphins, next. ohyousonofabitch.

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

DNA? Where are you seeing that one?

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

First picture is a double helix.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Okay, but the frame on the dolphins is so. friggin'. distracting. I can't look at the left one without losing it.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yup, look at them cross eyed then slowly bring your eyes back into focus. That's used to make me sad until I figured that out. Lol

11 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

If you look at them crosseyed, though, you see the 3D effect backward. You have to focus behind the image.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

YES! Thank you! I was a moment away from punching the screen after looking at this for 10 mins 3 times

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

SCOLA?

11 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

11 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

Took me 4 years but I got it, fantastic upvote

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

hah, this one is harder too see, but have my upvote anyway

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This deserves WAY more points.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Why God? When is it my turn to see the goddamn sail boat?

11 years ago | Likes 147 Dislikes 1

You need more upvotes for this comment

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Holy crap, I never thought I'd see a Mallrats reference on here.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Look, it's a schooner!

11 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

Haha, you fucking idiot! It's a sailboat!

11 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

A schooner is a sailboat, stupid head!

11 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

YOU KNOW WHAT? THERE IS NO EASTER BUNNY!

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

BRIAN, Lion, Heart, 3d Butterflies, Peaks and valleys, flower ,Scion ,wavy lines, dolphins and treasure, convex/ concave shapes, dickbutt

11 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

it says brain, not Brian.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I could not figure out the wavy lines one. I was thinking, "WTF is this supposed to be, it's just squiggly lines?"

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

also I don't see scion, I think it got taken out, it goes from the flower to the celtic knot looking lines

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yeah it used to be 11 images where the last one was hidden

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

oooh, yeah, that old trick for hiding the last image, though I guess unneeded since the pics are already hidden.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

weird, I didn't see a brain in the first one, I saw what looked like a chain or totem pole down the middle..

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No I think the totem says Brian in block letters

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

yeah I realized that after I went back up and looked at it lol.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Okay nvm I looked again and realized those were letters spelling the word BRAIN from top to bottom.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh, that magical moment when you finally figured out how to do it.

11 years ago | Likes 57 Dislikes 2

Still can't do it either

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Still can't do them, gg eyes. Hated these things as a kid

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

first time i've ever been able to do these...27 years and i finally passed 2nd grade!!

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Once you get one you can scroll up/down with your eyes at the same "focus" and see them all without starting over. :D

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I am still screaming all by myself in front of the computer

11 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

I'm irrationally angry because I've never been able to see these

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The nervous sobbing part that comes next is my favorite.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The butterfly one is a good beginner one. Slightly cross your eyes and then unfocus them until the images combine in your line of sight.

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

...which one is that, for those of us that can't see them?

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#4 O_o

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thx

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Pretend like you're looking past it. Like 15 feet behind your screen. Then look at the screen with your eyes unfocused, and let them slowly

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Focus. Like it said, it takes patience, and some are easier to see than others. Really cool though

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Okay, so I've been using the crosseye method and never could tell what most of these were supposed to be. This explanation just blew my mind

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you, awesome person!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Am I the only person who thinks these are super easy? Does no one else have independent control over one eye?

11 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 2

I do this all the time with everything. Chairs, blinds. It's very useful comparing two documents. Or games where you find the differences

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It really is. And its great for cheating if youre at a party with really boring friends who play spot the difference games.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I can always see these super quickly. It's like having a pretty retarded superpower.

11 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

A DELIGHTFUL pretty retarded superpower, kthx.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

For some reason I can only see the inversed image..

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

My problem is typically that I can see there's an image, and can make out an outline, but I can't figure out what it's an outline of.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I dunno I just cross my eyes, you don't need individual control

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's the wrong way to do it - it inverts the pictures.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Where do I fucking look and for how fucking long??

11 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 1

Bring the image as close to your face as you can then pull back slowly, keeping your eyes relaxed and focused

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

OK OP, these are amazing!! I should have read the comments and you should have mentioned that cross-eyed thingy!

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

making the two dots into three is "that cross-eyed thingy", though.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, it's the "it" but not the "how"

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No idea what's supposed to be in #1, #4, #7 and #8. #1 looks like illegible text-dildo, #4 I can't focus on anything, neither on #7 or #8.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

11 years ago (deleted Mar 26, 2015 2:57 AM) | Likes 0 Dislikes 0

That's the only way.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same here. I blur the image, see a shape, and try to focus on that shape. Then I can look all around the image without breaking focus.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

pardon, but isn't that exactly the effect of going cross-eyed? Being cross-eyed isn't always so drastic as some people think it is

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Cross-eyed suggests you're focusing in front of the image, instead of behind it. Most autostereograms are designed so that (cont)

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

focusing in front makes them pop in, while focusing behind makes them pop out.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

:D knowledge!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cross-eye flips the image around the wrong way

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A schooner it's a sailboat, stupid head!

11 years ago | Likes 189 Dislikes 1

Those kids are on the escalator again !!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Last time that was on TV I paused it and looked at the picture. It's not a schooner.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you. If I didn't see this as a comment I would have deleted my account.

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

This movie perfectly sums up my feelings on magic eyes. Fuck you guys I'm going home.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You dumb bastard.

11 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You know what? There is NO Easter Bunny!

11 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

Over there it's just a guy in a suit!

11 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

"...and I guarantee you'll see a sailboat, an ocean, and maybe even some of them big-titted mermaids doing some of that lesbian shit."

10 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I always thought he said "A Scooter is a Sailboat"

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Thank fuck i'm not the only one

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That movie is now 20 years old.

11 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Why would you do that to my already delicate existentialist psyche?!?

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

hush you!

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I was about to say "Oh a sailboat" But you got there before me! Have a plus

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

not sure what im doing differently but they all look inverted to me...sticking back instead of forward. anyone else?

11 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I've always had this problem too. Apparently if you cross your eyes it becomes inverted. http://www.magiceye.com/faq.htm#double

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

OMG I'm not alone anymore! This is what it feels like when doves cry!

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Only way I can see them :(

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

You're not doing it wrong - this happens sometimes depending on how you learn to look at them - but if you practice you can flip between.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

i need some step by step instructions here!!! my eyes refuse to comply

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Posted a really long thread of how I remember learning somewhere on the top comment. Actually, seeing them inverted is a skill in itself.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

srsly tho, are our eyes in backwards or what?

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That is a clever as shit dickbutt

11 years ago | Likes 640 Dislikes 4

I knew it was coming and just went straight to the end.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've always been able to see these fairly easily and that one made me lol.

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Able to see this sort of picture, or able to spot hidden dickbutts?

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

BOTH.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It has the added bonus of fucking blinding me!

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

This comment needs to be higher.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Was it the second to last one? I thought I saw it and then came down to see if it was a comment.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Last one.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To clarify, it's like someone stuck a hollow cylinder in wet sand to create 4 shapes

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

A hollow cylinder from several reference points.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Damnit...maybe I should try on a screen bigger than 6"

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

helps, but i did it on my iphone 5 =P

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

You can go deeper with the dickbutt one and then it has two dicks. Seriously cross your eyes again and it's different.

11 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

But it always has two dicks.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No two dicks on its butt. Really, try it. Once you're looking at dickbutt cross your eyes again.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I tried.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Idk it's what I saw the first time it's like there are two slightly different images.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Does anyone else see the army of dickbutts!?

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If I hadn't read your comment, I'd have never known there could be multiple "layers".

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Right? We've discovered a well of untapped potential... It could be cool, somehow

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I see it! You can also try crossing it 3 times, but then it doesn't really look like anything in particular.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's dickbuttception!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Holy crap you're right. Mind = blown

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thank you for not hiding a dickbutt in there.

11 years ago | Likes 195 Dislikes 15

check the last one tho

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

After looking through these for like 20 minutes. GOD*tmesis*DAMNIT!

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

there's a dickbutt in the last one

11 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 11

OP is a bundle of sticks.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Definitely. I am so glad there wasn't at least one.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I've got some bad news for you...

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

Yeah, bundle-of-sticks OP added it after the fact.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I was expecting them to all be dickbutt

11 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

fuck

11 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

Yeah, he totally did not hide a dickbutt in any of the pictures

11 years ago | Likes 93 Dislikes 1

He literally did not.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The last one

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He didn't "hide" it. It's in plain view.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The last one certainly looks like a dickbutt.

11 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 4

It might be, but I'd error on the side of trust here and assume it isn't

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

They can be animated too! http://upload.wikimedia.org/wikipedia/commons/6/6c/Stereogram_Tut_Animated_Shark.gif

11 years ago | Likes 654 Dislikes 3

I don't think they swim like that.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

bring this to the oculus!!!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I did not know that was a thing! Pretty cool!

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

OH MY HOLY MOTHER FUCKER. WHAT EVEN. THAT WAS AWESOME.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This was always one of my favourites: https://dat.fgts.jp/h/1411888702303.gif

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Well hell if that isn't the most boner-inducing thing ever.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Holy. Shit. I think my eyes have exploded.

11 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

If this isn't the coolest shit you've seen all day you can get out of my face

11 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

This was so painful until it worked

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Commenting for comment

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Never knew...

10 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You think simple animation is cool? Try Quake II. http://www.lewcid.com/lg/download/SIRD/q2/index.html

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wow.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Omg!!!

Link is broken :(

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

My ex had a VHS of moving Magic Eye images from when he was a kid. It was awesome. :)

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Here's one I found on Google Images:

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wow, never seen an animated one before.

11 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 0

holy shit!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've never been able to see these my whole 21 years of living and the fact that there are those that move and i can FINALLY see them? WOAH!

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Moar!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ok, after looking at this, I can no longer see the ones in the OP, which is normally extremely easy for me. You broke my eyes!

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Ok, got them to work again, but now they are reversed -- what should be "sticking out" is receding!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I ALWAYS WONDERED ABOUT THIS! :D

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Here's one that's a bit less seizure-inducing. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sfTXVJOTIrk

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Woah! Everyone out of the water!

11 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

MUHFUCKING CONFETTI SHARK

This made me lol

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I know!!!!

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

He's all like "doop-de-doop-de-doop I'm a shark"

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That is amazing

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

WHAAAAAAAAaaaaaaaaaat!?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

holy mother of god....

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

While checking out the others I thought an animated one would be awesome. Thanks for making it happen so quick!

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

WHAT KIND OF SORCERY IS THIS!!!!!

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

that's a serious mindfuck

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

A shark!

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Ok. This has got to be a thing: animate one with a spider jumping at you.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

What is it though? Fish? Penis?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ever since I got my first Magic Eye calendar in 2007 or whenever it was, I wanted 3D porn. Now I REAAAALLY want 3D porn.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Omg

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's awesome!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

amazing!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

JAYZIS!!!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I literally said "WOW!!!" outloud

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I dont see shit....

11 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 0

Try not to open it in another window/tab

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The URL tells it

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I finally got it by pulling my focus in from the screen instead of looking past it.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's a swimming shark

11 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

I can honestly say, I do not see the slightest hint of anything else than colour splatter

11 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

It helps if you follow one of the dark lines from left to right. Might have to do it a couple of times.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It was a little more difficult to see. I had to adjust how far distant i looked. It's a swimming shark.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I had the same problem, but I figured it out. It is the same process as when you hold you finger close to your face, focus on it, and then

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

un-focus from your finger and focus on the background. You do the same thing except there is nothing in front of your face to focus on.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

This changes EVERYTHING

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Way to go. Mind blown. Did NOT know these things could move too.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I saw it, but ow my face.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nice shark

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I had no idea there were animated ones! Nice! +1

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

OMG, thank you!!!!! I've never seen an animated one before!!!!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

this is the first time i've been able to see anything with these... I'm truly amazed......... it's a shark, right?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Anyone remember the old PC game Magic Carpet? It actually had a feature to play the game like this!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wow, that is awesome.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Hoy fucken shit balls!!!!!!!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Did anyone else find this one way easier to get than the stationary ones?

11 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

I can't see this one at all but I can see the stationary ones.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I found it harder. I can get the stationary ones within a second but my eyes couldn't keep focus with this one. :-(

11 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Same here. I'm having a hard time seeing it.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've never been able to do the static ones but I can just barely get this one.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Stereograms work (I believe) in part because your eyes find a point where the patterns break up and edges are found, the eye will gravitate+

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

to a moving edge much easier than a still edge due to motion tracking

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

very much so.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This makes my head hurt. But woah.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Easy Lucifer...

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

SHIIEEEETTT!!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

THIS IS NEW TO ME!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

THIS IS FUCKING AMAZING!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You're a wizard with many talents

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've seen the same method used to make a game. ... I used to play twos this way at work

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I still don't see anything...

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You've blown my mind.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think I saw a boob

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I love this.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have never, not ever, been able to accomplish these. I am under the assumption everyone else is playing a trick on me.

11 years ago | Likes 1928 Dislikes 18

The first time I did I was super drunk and sat in a corner with one for 30 minutes. When it came into focus, there were dinosaurs.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I still remember it. It was fucking magical.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Guys, you got it wrong. Rembrandt wasn't able to see these either. Check Strabismus on Wikipedia. We see differently. its weird I tell you.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Get the screen as close as you can so that your vision goes out of focus. Slowly pull the screen away from you. Works well on mobile.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I also that thing you said!

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The most annoying thing about this is it's not even a sailboat!!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It requires stereoscopic vision, which some people (like those with amblyopia) do not have. Not knowing this at the time, I hated these.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Speaking as someone who just got this to work for the first time ever (@ 30)... It was like magic

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same here, it is a personal shame of mine.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

cross your eyes!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I have, for 20 years, not been able to do these. By calibrating with the white dots, I saw it in like 10 min. +1 obviously.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I swear I saw it for a fraction of a second, but then it was gone again :(

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

NEVER MIND I CAN DO IT NOW HOLY SHIT I FEEL LIKE I JUST GAINED SUPERPOWERS THIS IS AMAZING

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

All these people are lying. It is just a big conspiracy.

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

I can't cross my eyes, but I have always been able to see these with ease. The trick is being able to control the focus in your eyes.If you

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

(2)can unfocus your eyes while staring at the screen so that the screen becomes blurry, and control how blurry or unblurry it is, it's easy.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Relax your eyes then bring them back into focus on the background. An image will begin to pop but don't look directly at it until it's solid

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My mom taught me once to look at an object across the room, then put the picture in front of my eyes while still "focusing" on the object

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I can't move my computer monitor like that, silly! ;)

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

unless monitor is against a wall, you can still try focusing on something behind the monitor & moving your eyes to the pic w/o changing focus

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Oh hey! Look, it's a sailboat!"

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I thought a few were working, then I saw the thing about dickbutt and I realized I was not actually seeing it...

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

SAME. i honestjy think its my eyes are different

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

you basically have to change where your eyes are focused. look at something far away and try to keep that focus when looking at the screen

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Look! Look with your special eyes!

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Me too!!!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I haven't been able to do this well since I got glasses, I used to do this all the time as a Kid though by crossing my eyes

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh cool, a sailboat

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I don't think I'll ever be able to do any of these because I was born with a lazy eye. Took me years of therapy to fix it. so I feel you.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

same here! :O but at least we can switch our eyes and decide from which one we 'want' to look and have generally another view

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

try placing your pointer finger in front of your face and stare at the tip of your finger

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just looked very silly to people in my office... and it still didn't work :(

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I find it much easier when they're inverted - then you can put your finget in front of the picture, focus on it, and the background appears.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

(If you do this with these images, the stereogram will be reversed - you may still make the general shape, but it'll be inset)

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is the only one I've ever gotten to work http://s172.photobucket.com/user/figmentPez/media/Animated%20GIF/animated-magic-eye-1.gif.html

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Actually I just managed to get my first still one to work and it was of course dickbutt.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's both trippy and cool.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's neat.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same here, until I saw that first one with the dots

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We had posters of them everywhere at school growing up, I was the only kid that could do them. Even some of the teachers wouldn't believe.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don't even try! I tried too hard and now I'm blind. Cross your eyes, they said. God knows I crossed...

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Man, that sucks. I literally just have to look at them and I can see them easily.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You and me, both! People say they see things, all I see is specks and blotches.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I see it 3D but its inverted, what am I doing wrong?

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I've always had the same problem and could never figure it out. Makes it hard to see what I'm actually looking at.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah, looks hollow and boring.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It just takes practice. Then you'll become so good at it you can do it on demand and start to worry that you've destroyed your eyes.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

1) put your nose on it. 2) 1000 yd stare, but keep your eyes relaxed. 3) slowly back away, but keep your eyes looking past the image 4) ????

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

5) profit

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Here's my method: Look for 2 similar shapes that are close together. Unfocus your eyes until one in on top of the other, and then 1/2

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Try to focus your eyes again, but keep the shapes on top of each other. It can still be tricky, though. 2/2

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I can't either. It's something to do with the lazy eye I had as a child. At least that's what the optometrist told me :)

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It makes me sad that you have never experienced these! Can you make your eyes unfocus? That's how I do it.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Me too!!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just hurt my brain doing these. I crossed my eyes in the wrong direction and had the depth inverted. Never happened before to me.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Cheat sheet please!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I feel like me being colorblind has always messed me up on actually seeing an image.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Another trick I learned is that if the image is glossy or reflective to stare at yourself until your eyes refocus the design.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh! A schooner!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's a genetic thing, some people are literally physically incapable of seeing the 3d images.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

i have never been able to get these things to work either, i just tried and nope, doesn't work. i still only see a jumble of colours.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

cross your eyes then slowly uncross them until you automatically focus

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I thought so too for the longest, until I learned to see it with the crossed-eyes technique. Can do it with tile floors or any regularly (1)

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

repeating surface/image, though obviously those don't have a hidden image. (or do they?)

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

All I get is a blurry photo. Maybe my eyes won't cross that far. It makes me nauseated to strain D:

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You don't have to cross them far at all. Just aim for getting one identical spot to overlap the next.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For me at least, there's a point where the illusion "locks", and I no longer have to consciously cross my eyes or strain. For these...

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I had to get my face in real close to the screen. Too much conflicting perimeter info causes my brain to reject the illusion.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

cross your eyes!

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

same i have never been able to go crosseyed

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Oh yes you all think you're sooo funny... Bah.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There are two ways to do magic eyes. One way, you cross your eyes, and the other way, you "uncross" your eyes. Some can see only one kind.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

If you cross your eyes (focus in front of the image rather than beyond), you see it "inside out".

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For me, I can't see inside out images. I've had to cut an image in half and put it together the other way to see it.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They don't work on-screen for me, but I can see printed ones in seconds.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

today is the first time ever I've managed to do it. the trick with the white dots helps

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't have depth perception. Maybe you don't either. It makes seeing the hidden images nearly impossible

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How would one test this depth perception absence?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I went to the eye doctor

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I always had to bring the book SUPER close to my face, cross my eyes and pull it away slowly.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I agree.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Just try to overlap the repeating patterns. It will start to look uneven. You are looking for a 3D shape wrapped in the background pattern.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Same here. I can do the first one. But that's it.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I always did itby accident as a kid and crashed and fell into eve

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ask your optometrist about vision therapy. Not being able to diverge/converge your eyes accurately is a problem.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

you have to get better at controlling the focusing of your eyes then

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Step 1. Look past the screen

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Step 2: get headache

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

WHY CAN'T I SEE THE FREAKING SAILBOAT TOO?!

11 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

Ha ha ha you dumb bastard

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's a schooner!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Here's another method for anyone who is having trouble with the others: first save off a few pictures and enlarge them so they're bigger 1/

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ideally they surround the center of your vision entirely. 2) Lean in a bit closer without refocusing your vision, so the image blurs.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

3) Don't blink! Your eyes might water, that is okay. 4) Relax your eyes, don't strain them at all. 5) Focus on a single point with both.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

At this point you might see the image, if not, lean in and out so it becomes more or less blurry, keep focusing on the center point.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

6) Practice until you can see the image or try another (some will be easier). 7) The next step is to be able to 'lock' the 3D image.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's about learning to get conscious control over at what distance your eyes focus, regardless of what's in front of you.

11 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

Maybe my contacts prevent this.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I used to only wear contacts from the age of about 16 to about 24, and I never had problems with seeing these. I have good control over it.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It shouldn't make a differences, I switch between glasses and contacts and never had any trouble.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

With the above examples, you have to focus behind the image. Look through so to say. Google it. There are multiple methods to train yourself.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Yep, that's it exactly. I have always thought that my penchant to daydream and 'look far away' is the reason I'm a pro at these images.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I don't get it lol. Even if I adjust my focus, it just gets blurry. I've never seen anything in these.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Find the right amount of "Blurry" and you'll get it! Draw two equal dots, and inch apart on paper. Unfocus, and they become blurry (1/?)

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You'll see every dot twice. Adjust focus and get the middle two to overlap to make 3 dots. The center dot will now seem in focus (2/3)

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In university I made a poster with one of these... except that I'd chopped it into slices and shuffled it so it wouldn't work. I had (1)

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

people who claimed to see all manner of things in it... but it was just a garbage scramble. (2)

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It can still work, it'd just look like random garbage, like abstract art or something.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I tried it, couldn't see anything (and I'm normally good at them). If it had looked like anything it'd have been confetti.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I can use the same method of viewing these on pretty much anything. It makes random spots appear to be popping out. kind of interesting.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Let me try to help. (Expand replies.)

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I was always getting the cross-eyed "carved into" version, so this really helped. I can identify the image easier when it "pops" instead.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

1. Find a distictive part of the repeating pattern, such as the roses in the third image.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

2. Get VERY close to the screen so that you're basically looking at it cross-eyed.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

3. Let your eyes relax and look past the image. Pay attention to the repeating part and try to align two into one. Do NOT try to focus.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

4. Slowly back away from the image, keeping the pattern converged, until the image and the depth come into focus.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

What works for me is getting my face about an inch away from the screen. Try to look "through" the screen like you're trying to focus (1/?)

11 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 0

I just figured it out. I've always crossed my eyes and I saw the image inverted. I have to start really close and pull back slowly.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Holy shit. looking through the screen works! I always did the crossed eye version and only got an inverted image. 3D, but hard to identify

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Does anyone else see them backwards? Like it is the inside of a jello mold?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I pretty much get real close, go cross-eyed and slowly pull out. Also my favourite form of safe sex. I only have two kids, so boom.

Good thing I don't have a camera on my desktop...

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

on something in the distance. Try to find a spot in the image that is pushed "back" in the image and let your eyes adjust to that spot (2/?)

11 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

then slowly pull your face away from your screen until you're 6-8" away. If you wear glasses, try it with glasses on and with them off.(3/4)

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

I'm wearing lenses currently and I never seem to be able to do it with them on. I'm great at changing 'depth' without glasses/lenses though

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Sometimes the glare/focal distance of the lens messes with the ability to see the image. (4/4)

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Im a master at it. Cross your eyes REALLY far, and slowly bring them back to normal. sometimes its hard to get your eyes to *stick* 1/2

WOW that one was really tough to get but It did work.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Thank you so much, I've never been able to do these until you explained it

6 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

woohoo!

6 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Never in my life have i been able to see these until this explanation, thank you!!!

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Good job! I got it now. Thanks. Once you see it, lean back in your chair...and it will follow...zoinks!

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

HOLY SHIT! A HEART IN #3! This is truly the first time in my life that I've seen anything! Thanks! I was the only 90s kid who couldn't.

11 years ago | Likes 57 Dislikes 0

I still can't believe I was just able to do this. This feeling of euphoria rivals my first full time job. Seriously.

11 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Thanks to you, the first magic eye picture I ever managed to see was dickbutt. Played me without even trying...

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I've never been able to do it either, but your advice helped me finally get it. Thank you so much.

11 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 1

woohoo!

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

If crossing your eyes is hard, try this: Look the picture really close and relax your eyes so your focus goes "far"

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I messed around for years crossing my eyes before seeing these so it's SO easy now :P

11 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

I bet you lost some focus :/

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well I did get glasses at 12... not sure if it's related

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I just looked at them all and I can't get them to UNstick.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

haha that happens to me too after doing it for a while!

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I can get three dots, but no image :(

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Actually if you cross your eyes instead of relaxing and focusing behind, the 3D becomes 'negative' and goes away from you rather than toward

11 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

This. I did the eyes-crossing thing until I started focusing on something far away and turning back to the image without refocusing my eyes.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

However, crossing your eyes is a great way to win at spot the difference!

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

thank you

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Whenever I even begin to try to cross my eyes, they automatically "focus" like they're trying to see something close, so everything's blurry

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Its nothing to do with actually *crossing* your eyes. Just relax your eyes so you see double vision.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What works for me is "reverse" crossing my eyes. Like when you've got your finger by your face but you're zoned out, you see 2 fingers even

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

though you aren't actively crossing your eyes, your eyes are just relaxed. If that makes sense.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It makes sense... I think. But how is it helping with crossing my eyes?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Now you're just trying to make me look silly!

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It took me a very long time to learn how to see them. I cross my eyes until I see one identical part overlap the next and "lock" them.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

My method is to get closer to my screen so it's difficult to focus. Then try focusing behind the screen as if you're looking through it

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's my method too. :)

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I've never crossed my eyes to see them. You know when you hold a finger up and you look past it and your finger becomes two? You do that,

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

had to get really fuckin close to the screen tho.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

but only on a flat surface. I did it for like two hours in the library when I was 12 and when my eyes got tired I saw an image.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I TAKE IT BACK I JUST GOT IT TO WORK. COOL.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

ha after a bit o practice its easy now. neato! now i can see them two ways. thanks, that was a really simple explanation.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

lol i just spent like 20 min trying to do it this way, i just cant get it to work!

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I can't cross my eyes and look at something the only way I can cross my eyes is if I look at my nose.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It's not really *crossing* your eyes. It's just double vision. If you just relax your eyes, your vision doesn't seperate into double?

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I know what your talking about but my eyes just go blurry when i relax them im not sure how i can get the double vision.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

in the right spot-but you should be able to at least catch a glimpse of the 3D image on the return to focus-even if you cant stay there 2/2

11 years ago | Likes 84 Dislikes 0

My vision just goes blurry.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

thats funny. this is exactly how i learned to do these

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

OMG THAT WORKED! I SAW DICK BUTT I SAW DICK BUTTTTTT

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Holy crap I just did it

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As someone who is left eye dominant, god dammit.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Does it actually focus when you get it or is it always blurry?

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It depends on how good you are at it. I can see the picture properly on some prints and not at all on others

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

its always a *little* bit awkward looking, never quite perfectly focused but really close.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

nope. nothing....

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

D:

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Get really, really close, like almost touching the monitor, with your nose at the middle of the picture. Stare just past the end of your 1/

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

/2 nose so that your eyes are almost crossed. *Slowly* back away, with your eyes remaining fixed on that same spot where your nose just was.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That's the hard way ... OR: Just pretend to focus something that's behind the screens/book.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

it was always the easiest way for me. the books tell you to get in real close and pull away slowly, that never worked for me.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's not the hard way if it's the only way we can do it, haha!

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Crossing your eyes is easier than focusing something behind your screen? OK

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I can't conceptualize how to focus on something I can't see.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0
