You can pay $1.50 today to keep a kid out of poverty. Or you can pay a few hundred to a few grand to eventually replace your window... And then pay more to fund the police and jails needed to 'deal with them'...The fiscally conservative choice is to directly tackle poverty, not ignore it and pretend it goes away on its own.

Those who have the most to personally gain from a civic society owe the most to maintain that civil society they are benefiting from...Set up progressive tax brackets, figure out your needed budget, and then start at the top brackets and see how much budget you're missing. Move down the brackets as needed. If you get to the bottom bracket and need more for budget, then either lower your budget or readjust your tax brackets.
I wonder if any of these "We just dislike them, therefore we're justified in simply murdering them" types realize just how disliked they are across the globe...
