Waaaay back in university I went to a Subway with some friends and I held the door for everyone (including guys) until the last person, a diehard feminist, who berated me saying, "I can open the door for myself!" Hugging isn't really a thing in Chinese and other East Asian cultures. I'm Chinese-Canadian and the only people I hug are my mom and my wife. I feel even awkward hugging my brother and sister.
