Also it humanizes the rider in a good way. I look like a cyber assassin in my gear, but even for folks who ride bare, it's easy for drivers to forget there's a life in these bodies and in other vehicles.
When I rode motorcycles people would be awful to me when I wore hi vis so I stopped after a couple years of intentional near misses. One easter I safety wired bunny ears to my helmet. Suddenly EVERYONE could see me AND didn't want to smash their vehicles into me on sight! Always ride in something goofy now for safety
I go every year to the one in Austin. I grew up staying with Gramma in OK every summer and we would go, I fell in love with the colors and drums!

Comfort/safety/security because a lot of damage can happen very quickly if you don't have a solid grip. Seen some injured/dislocated digits when a bar got loose

To be clear people don't cheat because the side is more beautiful. They cheat because they're cheaters. And THAT is what makes them dumb.
In the late 90s I needed emergency surgery on my hand or I'd lose it. I tried to convince them to not save it because I wouldn't be able to afford it. They assured me they'd help and it'd be okay before I passed out. They didn't. It took over a decade to get that debt off of me. I have my have so that's nice
It's sick that suing is basically the only way to make a law in this country. That usually means only entities of means get laws made in their interest

Diagnosis helps with accommodations and medication. With both you still need to develop systems. If you're spicy you've probably developed a vast web of systems. Some will be held up by trauma. A talk therapist can help with that regardless of diagnosis
Turns out I'm ADHD AF. I've met therapists who are surprised that I'm diagnosed and have a degree and career. I'm disabled, not incapable.
