Also, you can make multiple libraries and one of mine is just the stuff I record while I game with friends, I cannot count the hours I spent just organizing the libraries and in a fun way. Its so cool to decide how you want the libraries split, what the cover art are..etc
Found footage is a sfw term haha. But really anything in video format works. If you are to digitize your own dvd/blurays I would highly recommend compressing your videos after theyre digitised. Look into using the free app Handbrake for that. I dont remember what software I used for digitizing my physical library though but be warned, it will take time

You can do both. My plex server is a mix of my own dvd/blurays that I digitised and stuff that euhmm.. I found online
nah man, you can run your plex server on a potato. Im far from being an IT guy and I made my server just fine with just youtube tutorials. Currently its running on my 3rd PC which is mostly like 10+ yrs old parts (I think the gpu on it is a 770 4gb, which was pretty good but back in like 2015)
Also something thats cool is other people can access your server for like 2$/month. It was free before but for 2$ I think its still pretty fair
So with plex you can create your own media library with your own PC/server. Then you can stream your own videos just like netflix.
To do it locally ( Your own tv with your server on the same network for example) is free.
If you want to access your library from outside networks you have a small fee (either one-time or monthly) I never paid for it though
I have a PC dedicated for the library just bc I dont want my main PC being open 24/7 but you dont need a dedicated server really

I read lotr when I was a teenager, ofc I would recommend it to anyone BUT I wouldnt go as far as saying its a great read. There's ALOT of unnecessary information in there that just clutters the story.
Tolkien is by far the best worldbuilder imo, but not the best storyteller at all and I think you have to accept that going in instead of expecting the best writing ever.

isnt that the free app thats basically just a money pit? Like everything the user creates cost them quite a lot of money and there's no revenue for them with this?

thats fair, I dont play mmorpgs so thsts definitely a blind spot for me. Thats great to know though that this genre is mostly unaffected by the shady practices :)
Now there are a lot of games still doing things right but an insane amount are doing it the new sketchy way. Maybe thats more something in the game genres I play though thats also possible. But thats a consequence of games now not releasing in absolute definite format. It has MANY advantages and we shouldnt roll back BUT there's the undeniable downside of games releasing unfinished and unoptimised

To me, in my perception, is that games now are often really botching the design, art and *especially* optimisation for the sake of delivering something fast and then slap the "early access" stamp on it to excuse anything not up to standards.
