I didn't "come in with BS" but nearly died anyway because the ER said I was fine when I wasn't.
Fainting from standing. CT scan showed brain swelling. ER released me without a neuro exam. Later GP said i was lucky to survive the night.
In most US states (inc. FL) you can be fired for any reason including "didn't come to work during a hurricane." It's ridiculous.
