Trump has a degree in bullshit

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Now do Obama and Bush and Clinton

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Why does this get down voted ... haha great point but wrong opinion imgur banishes you to the bad replies.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

That's cuz in Murica we judge our presidential candidates by how well they "connect with people" and not on how competent they.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

How well they connect their hands with the pussy of the people*

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

He really doesn't get enough shit for being a failed casino owner. It's literally a business where people bring you their money.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 11

He filed after the 2008 recession. *Every* casino suffered. Priorities change when millions lose their jobs and the economy tanks.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

I'm in Africa right now and I have to keep explaining the electoral college and that the majority of us DID NOT vote for him

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 6

Doesn't matter, the system is too fucked up

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Angela Merkel is still pretty far right with social policy, that's why Gay Marriage isn't allowed in Germany yet.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

This has more to do with her religious belief I think.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That'd be the cause of her being "pretty far right with social policy", though, not a different explanation, no?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Im actually just glad he doesent drink and get drunk. All of a sudden bombs everywhere. Probably.. i dont know. I drink

Trump is retarded.

9 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 25

And why's that?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Even a full blown idiot could see that Trump is a retard

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 6

How's Trump retarded?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Because CNN told him so, obviously.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

german here: she fucks up our country with her politics as well. grew up in east germany (the socialistic part) and never lost the attitude

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 3

German here; Go fuck yourself. She's doing fine and so is Germany.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 6

Don't worry friend, we'll find a way for you to defect to the free nations soon.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Also: not remotely on topic -.-

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Obviously a lot of germans thing otherwise. At least I dont insult people, only her way of doing politics...

FAKE NEWS!!!!!

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 4

There's a conspiracy going around saying he has a brain

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

How do you make several billions of dollars without a brain

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

How do you mispell tap?

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Yes, but nobody misspells better than him.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

If you're swayed by cherry picking, you're the problem in the world.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 4

at least part of it. I think the over all problem is we dont honestly care enough about most shit

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I can tell you that I personally don't five a shit about anything. As long as I have a roof over my head and steady paycheck, I'm happy.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

The steady paycheck is for booze and weed btw, thought that was important.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

See, Trump is not a failed businessman though. He was very successful. And if we diminish that we will forget how he thinks (1).

9 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 16

Understanding that he views the US like a company will help predict the choices he will make. (2/2)

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 9

Depends on how you define success in business. Most of his companies were driven into the ground, while he made out rich

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 3

Yes, because a guy who drives companies into the ground to enrich himself, is exactly the President we want running the USA like a company.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Wanting to understand something is not the same thing as endorsing it.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He was born rich. He had a very unfair advatnage. His real estate company is his dad's

9 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

He declared bankruptcy in the 1980s and wrote a book about his success. People who watched his shenanigans then think he has no character.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 5

He has over 530 businesses and declared bankruptcy on 6 of them, during a time where the overall casino industry struggled. 99% success rate

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 8

I still want to know how my damn president gets his news from other places than the GODDAMN DEPARTMENTS THEMSELVES! How?! HOW?!

9 years ago | Likes 613 Dislikes 22

He's trying to govern from his alternate reality; the facts provided by government agencies all contradict his worldviews. Hence, Fox News.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

Probably bannon only gives him permission to watch Fox

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

I think he's found out that a lot of the job is complicated, hard and boring. He didn't get to meet the aliens & there is no death ray

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Also, apparently being president doesn't make him supreme ruler and he still has to comply with the law. That's got to bother him.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

He likes the ones on fox news better.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I think that he's trying to make people suspicious of our intelligence agencies. In case any other shit leaks about him.

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

I feel like ppl r scared to tell him the truth [or tell him he's wrong], in fear of losing their jobs. scary fucking world rn.

9 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 4

Doesn't help that he'll dominantly will only hire other racists, xenophobes & climate change deniers to support him.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Remember how he said he wasn't attending the daily security briefings because he's smart and doesn't need to go every day like Obama did?

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

>Has access to the most sophisticated information system on the planet >Ignores it and watches crank talk-radio hosts instead

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Because he's a cantankerous 70 year old, and won't change his viewing habits.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Breitbart News, The National Enquirer... I wish I was kidding. I heard on NPR where he'll see some stupid ass "article" and within 10 (1/2)

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

minutes there he is tweeting it. No checking, no other source, just something he saw or read in one place, and said, "Ooooohh!".

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

So he stuck to what he finds easy to digest and understand. It's just a shame that its mostly bullshit

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

He doesn't really listen to Cabinet. They are kind of left out of important decisions. Instead of informing and influencing, they're told.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Because Hillary is a criminal tool of the evil corporations. And emails. And something my grandpa sent me from Facebook.

9 years ago | Likes 62 Dislikes 6

Well she is. Why do people always see one as good and one as bad. Clinton is corporate scum just like trump is.SheJustIsOnTheReceivingEnd

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 17

The more days that pass in which I am disappointed in this presidency, the more I want to throttle people like you.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

He's the one who admittedly bribes the politicians, she is the one who we know as a fact takes the moneys. And he now does both of course.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 14

Gonna keep beating that horse eh? Eventually it will be relevant again, after all, things are always comming back in style.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Or you could, I dunno, judge her by her actions in and out of office instead of just by who her campaign contributors are.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Like the her actions where she tells wallstreet everything they want to hear in secret meetings, or the one where she changes laws for the

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

So you agree the New York Times is not a valid new source?

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 69

My problem is how does he get news from bogus sites and have the audacity to call real journalism 'Fake News'.

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

He's not very intelligent

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

He can be clever in the way a seedy used car salesmen often are, he knows he audience and can make a sale. But yes most of the time I think

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

he is a moron

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

FYI: Trump doesn't read. US intel doesn't provide their information in audio nor in video form. It's easier for him to just watch some TV.

9 years ago | Likes 96 Dislikes 3

And what little he can read or write is apparently only limited to 140 characters. Kinda like a computer with 32mb of RAM: useless.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So the CIA just needs to tweet intel at him?

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

That or just send them to Fox News

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It is a shame how much truth is actually in these statements

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm confident there are many white house staffers that would volunteer to read the briefings to him.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

And ye, Trump is well known that he doesn't use email either. At all. I wonder if he uses computers at all

9 years ago | Likes 21 Dislikes 3

He doesnt read. Writing is a-ok, as long as the text is not longer than 140 chars...

9 years ago | Likes 20 Dislikes 2

Funnyt thing: he doesn't even write his own tweets. Trump has said that he dictates all tweets to his staffers

9 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

"And fit in a 'Sad!' at the end. That'll show them."

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Ugh, some body has to translate his unintelligible screeching into >140, & then read him the replies & get screamed at for his 'rebuttal'

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 1

Are you talking about the sureveillance?

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

To be fair he got his information about the wiretap from the intelligence community, it just happened to be the Russian SVR.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

He got it from US intelligence, as a matter of fact some agencies said there was no Trump connection to Russia before we found out about ->

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

<- about the FISC warrants taken out.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

This is about the server? That came out in late october right?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

There were no FISC warrants taken out. No wiretapping occurred. Read up!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wait, what? How do you fail as a casino owner? That's like failing at selling beer to alcoholics outside an AA meeting.

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 11

It was during a time where the overall casino industry struggled. He declared bankruptcy on it right after the 2008 recession.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Not when there's competition, cash flows, and marketing skills involved...

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 4

By the way Merkel might be smart but she's not a good prime minister.

9 years ago | Likes 44 Dislikes 23

Happy to swap you for May...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

No Western leader could approach her current approval rating (60%), especially after 13 years in office (3 terms and a potential 4th).

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Based on the time she's in power and her overall approval, she's certainly above average. A calm worker often surpasses a loud, popular one

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

Chancellor not Prime Minister.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Equivalent title.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Lol please stop. I don't mean to insult; just a friendly pointer...people will be less likely to buy into any opinion you may have when you

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

state that she is germany's prime minister...because she isn't. Also, i disagree with your point that she is a bad leader, Chancellor

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

The chancelor of Germany is equivalent to prime minister in other countries. I think it's fine.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

I'm so embarrassed to be an American.

9 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 33

Shhh there there... It's not your fault... You aren't the embarrassment. As long as you didn't vote for him :D

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 6

Feel free to leave :D

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Why?

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 11

Why wouldn't they be? Just the embarrassment of their healthcare system should be sufficient but Trump's racism and sexism are shameful too.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 8

Why do you think.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Because America is one of the few nations at the forefront of a political movement that hasn't caught on culturally yet.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I assume because Trump is an international laughing-stock, man-child, petulant moron who get's his news, not from agencies, but from Fox.

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 21

I would be ecstatic if Fox was Trump's sole source of news. Sadly, his sources are much more varied, and of a more questionable calibre.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

One ran their nation into chaos, debt, and increased terror activity while the other has barely in office 3 months.

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 19

I honestly don't understand why people praise Merkel. She is a terrible leader, and to say she's the leader of the free world is wrong.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 12

If she is a terrible leader, Trump is Literally Hitler.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

"everyone I don't like is Hitler!" - The childs guide to politics.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

or Kim Jong Un or someone else of this kind, choose one

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That´s a plain lie. Germany is not chaotic - not more then normal- Our debts are DECREASING, and terror grows on its own. No help needed.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 4

so your argument is "trump is better because he hasnt had time to be shitter!"?

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 4

Not sure I made the comment: two turds and both stink.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Merkel has been in office longer than three months...

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

In 2016, Germany recorded a $25.5 billion surplus. Germany hasn't needed to borrow money for many years. The US? $441 billion...in deficit.

9 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 3

You're a fucking moron if you are trying to blame our debt, caused by Obama, on Trump. Fixing the debt was a major part of his campaign.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

First of all, calm down and read the replies below that comment. Secondly, learn the difference between debt and budget deficit.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Not an argument. Trump proposed to fix our budget, which he is now clearly doing.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

No, none of this is my argument. My point is that every developed country is in deficit, Germany has a friggin surplus. Merkel is doing good

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not to play the devil's advocate but the deficit has been going on longer than Trump has been in office.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

I know, my point was that the all of the developed world has huge budget deficits. For Germany to have a surplus instead is amazing.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

That will soon grind to a halt once Germany has gather revenue to economically integrate refugees into the population.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

I'm happy to pay a pile of money up-front to solve one of the large issues that's plaguing the country and will only get worse with time!

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That figure is from last year, mate, and includes preps for refugees. And it's projected to grow to record highs this year as well.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

She's also had numerous terrorist attacks while in office and her pro emigration ideas aren't exactly loved by native Germans

9 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 27

I call BS. Give some proof to a german, please.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 8

As a German: Her pro emigration is what made me at least respect her a bit.

9 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 2

I don't keep up with the news. What exactly did she fail at that makes her responsible for terrorist attacks? or is she committing them.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

Her choice to help people in need is the only thing she's ever done well. But afterwards everything turned back to hostility and disregard >

9 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 5

against refugees. And the voluntaty helpers are left alone. State is not doing its job.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 5

I call BS. Give some proof to a german, please.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 3

Would you like video of the anti-migrant protests or new reports about Ansbach?

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That´s some, not the majority. And Ansbach was last juli. Terror exists because our way of living is hated, it needs no other reason.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No one said majority. Mormons hate a lot of your way of living as well, yet they don't seem to be attacking you.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Are two "numerous"? From where do you get your news from? And for me as German, this are the only good actions she did as chancellor...

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

19 December 2016, Berlin. 24 July 2016 Ansbach. 19 July 2016 Wurzburg. 26 February 2016 Hanover. This is using a pretty strict definition.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sorry, you are right. There were more than 2. 3 are correct, but I don't know if it counts as numerous. The one in Hannover was no refugee..

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I could have kept going, but 140 character limit

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Trump would kill for her approval ratings.

9 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 4

Maybe not by AFD assholes. Luckily, thats still a minority.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

Is it just me or has Merkel been in power for like 15 years? Whatever the real length, seems kinda long to me in a democracy.

9 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 5

Term limits are such an American concept

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It exists in France and other European countries though.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Germans like stability. She's delivered solid economic growth for Germany so they've felt no need to change. She's still at 60% approval.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

12 years, since 2005. Helmut Kohl was 16 years in office.

9 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

She was elected and 3x re-elected in one the most democratic countries in the world. Because the majority thinks she is doing some good.

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 4

I was under the impression merkel isnt hugely liked, just her opponents are always complete shit.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

she has some hard times now, but "Mutti" (Mum) did an outstanding job over the years.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Does Germany have term limits?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

The normal for chancellor is 4 years, but you can be re-elected 4 times. So the max would be 20 years in charge. Wasn´t accomplished so far.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Thats not true, we dont have a term limit.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

*Only Merkel's best points* ... *Only Trump's worst points* "OMG you guys, Merkel's better than Trump."

9 years ago | Likes 148 Dislikes 63

No bias here

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

I was thinking the same. He sucks enough, you could just use the facts.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Uh, those aren't Trump's "worst points". In fact, those are some of his best. "Reality TV star" is probably his only real accomplishment..

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

Jesus Christ OP's post is dumb. Let's not act like merkel is a fuckin saint either.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 14

He's a literal shit sandwich.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

I've had bowel movements better than Trump.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Trump's best points- He knows how to please crowds, is very good at passing the non truth as truth, and is probably not Hitler.

9 years ago | Likes 94 Dislikes 14

The worst candidate to ever run for President. Still good enough to beat Hillary.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

Prrroooobably.

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Merkel is very good at ignoring the truth, even when it is out there is respectable and unbiased news sources.

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

*possibly (I'm sorry, I hate spelling Nazi's.) Pun intended.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ah yes, I forgot everyone is Hitler.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

He also might have skin, we've never seen it so we can't be sure, but it could exist.

9 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

There are not Trump's worst points. He's a child rapist and a pussy-grabber. Those are his worst points.

9 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 12

It's people like you that make me respect the awesome power of the American propaganda machine.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

got some sources on that child rape? Because Pizza Gate people believe the same of hillary and Bill has the same ties trump does

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 4

What are Trump's best points? I'm actually really curious!

9 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 6

he is a rather successful business man and is extremely good at getting people to follow him. The latter use to be one of the main (1/2)

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

qualifications to be president. I think it only isnt now because most politicians are far too polarizing (2/2)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I already replied to someone else. HINT: he didnt gain a net worth of +3bil by starting a failed casino.

9 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 9

Thanks for the hint, I was aware of that.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Merkel's worst points are still better than Trumps best points.

9 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 8

Merkel destroys the EU and potentially fucks up the place permanently, and Trump's worse that Merkel???

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

The EU still exists, If she's destroyed it, she's taking her sweet time at it. Trump, meanwhile is moving at a breakneck pace to ruin the US

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Yes you see, Trump is bad. And Merkel is good. And if you question this you're a racist and literally Hitler

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

you mean like her anti-science leanings on the fields of GMOs and nuclear energy? That seems tied with trump

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 4

1/2 Except Trump also thinks vaccines cause autism, and that global warming is a haox invented by the Chinese. Don't misunderstand - Merkel

9 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

oh, I am by no way saying merkel wouldn't be preferable to trump, just saying they do share some points. This just should have been (1/2)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

2/2 is wrong on GMOs and nuclear energy, but I would kill to have a President who is *only* as wrong on science as Merkel.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

best to best or worst to worst. Straight propaganda like this just bugs me even if I agree with its conclusions (2/2)

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

They share categories, not severity. Comparing them is like comparing a broken finger to a gunshot in the head.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Anybody is better than that twat

9 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

You're going to have to be more specific.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well, at least they couldn't be much worse, if at all.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Then you should run for President yourself.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Sadly, I am not born in the States. Otherwise I surely would do a better job.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

if you have any good points about trump feel free to bring them on.

9 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 11

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

HEY BY THE WAY, i had to google how to write "unite against me" and look what I found out

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Successful developer, real estate. This is inarguable, yet OP only talks about his casino. Quite the omission about a man worth > 3bil.

9 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 29

success is respective, he made out well, most of his businesses did not

Success isn't demonstrated by number of companies. Many of those would be shell companies to minimise tax.

There needs to be some manner of evidence for it to be theoretical, pretty sure its just hypothetical at this point.

The average millionaire goes bankrupt at least 3.5 times. capital gains is big risk - Big reward or big loss. 6 times is below average 1/2

Hundreds of new lignite power plants? What energy choices you don't like?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

1 Well, perhaps not hundreds. But lignite (brown coal) was their idea for supplying the base load while demanding lower CO2 emissions.

9 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

2 Personally I think that nuclear phase-out is a bad move. Modern nuclear power plants are a good solution for the base load.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

where nuclear power plants are rather bad. I think it's a good move to replace conventional power plants by renewables.

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

I don't think so. Renewables are great for localized application, but for the base load inflexible but reliable is the best choice.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But base load is losing more and more importance with a high share of renewables. It's more important to have flexible power plants,

9 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

As long as you can come up with grid-scale energy storage (battery, pumped hydro, etc.) to handle fluctuations in your renewables.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Renewables which don't work too often. Nuclear can provide sufficient base load to make the renewables redundant just as cleanly.

9 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I agree with Merkel on those things, and there are problems with GMO not related to the science, Nuclear is not 'clean" And "lignite" /1

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 15

Most energy is produced by lignite, why do you think it isn't really beeing used?

9 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Nuclear energy is cleaner than pretty much everything except geothermal, wind, hydro and tidal. Many times more versatile too.

9 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Arguable whether those are cleaner either with significantly more construction involved for the same generation capacity. And nuclear 1/
