Video is worth a watch if you have 15 minutes. This is just the ending of it. Tons of information is out there on the subject, if you want to learn more.

I spent a few hours making this album, and even if it never makes it out of user-sub, it was worth it because I learned a few new things in GIMP. Most useful of which is Script-Fu's Overlay Background, which was used to add the text to the gifs I made from the youtube video.

Couldn't find a picture of John with a cat to cover the tax, but I'll be damned if this dog isn't cute enough to suffice.

Ahhh +1 for "turn caps lock on and fly my pretties!" This is so awesome.

The comments are surprisingly tame...

that was glorious.

11 years ago | Likes 90 Dislikes 1

I guess this is what I'm doing my last 15 minutes of work.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Ha I think we crashed the website, it not worky

11 years ago | Likes 49 Dislikes 0

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I think since the day the FCC opened themselves for comments on this, people like us have been crashing their servers every thirty minutes

11 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 0

i've been waiting for this to show up on Imgur...

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

If the bill passes, every web site that doesn't pay for the "fast lane", will run like healthcare.gov

11 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

Yeah, that page went down like a $1 thai hooker.

Hue is actually a city over in Vietnam, hookers are friendly there.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Iwas literally just about to do this

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

John Oliver is great but his career is surprising, a few years back he was getting very occasional spots on panel shows in the UK. Now this.

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I think when he took over for Jon Stewart for a stint last summer people were amazed at how well he did (myself included)

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

That's definitely what pushed him over, yeah, but him getting the reporter spot on the show was the real jump out of nowhere I think.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

At the time I submitted my comment on the page there were only 4,500 that means that more people upvoted than commented. GO COMMENT

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

This should be on the front page

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

This is important.

11 years ago | Likes 215 Dislikes 3

Thank you to Imgur for hosting over 3TB's of traffic, without it being filtered to the slow lane! Sorry mobile users!

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They're going to keep trying to hammer this through until there's either enough voices to make them stop, or they get it done.

11 years ago | Likes 29 Dislikes 0

A blog I own/run is covering all of this... http://www.donttreadonusblog.com/

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

the fuck is that banner?

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Yeah.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Well, the FCC won't let me be or let me be me so let me see...

11 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

They try to slow down my internet speed but it would feel so empty with all that greed

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I just love when the Internet is called to arms and recognized for the crazy skills we don't realize we possess as master trolls.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Seems FCC might want 2 pay 4 extra bandwith & servers: https://variety.com/2014/biz/news/john-oliver-crashes-fcc-net-neutrality-1201210405/

He's f**king rockin it on his show

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

OK Imgurs..this may not be 2 cats caught in the act, but let's keep this on top for awhile! ISN'T THIS MORE IMPORTANT! Make some NOIZE!!!!

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

The Free and Open internet comments section on the FCC site goes to a broken link. Why am I not surprised?

11 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

It was in the basement of the town hall where the lights had gone out behind a door that said beware of leopard

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think it is because everyone is trying to go there at once and we keep crashing it XD

11 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

They shouldn't have hired the same company who did healthcare.gov...

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Can someone link more of this guys rants, there fucking awesome.

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

go check out his youtube channel, everything's there: https://www.youtube.com/user/LastWeekTonight

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

If he is this awesome in every video you have just helped me waste 4-5 hours. ty good sir

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

The one on climate change one is also excellent. He's rocking the hell out of his new show

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I just watched that one. After seeing some of the debates with bill nye, he was quite accurate on how US is handling it

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Such a simple concept, and yet one that bears discussion. Who the hell cares what the public thinks about a scientifically evidenced fact?

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I hear that chrome doesn't work with the website but Internet Explorer dose.

11 years ago | Likes 47 Dislikes 1

I went on the site with mobile chrome.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I'm not seeing any open proceedings on Chrome. Anyone else experiencing this?

11 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

It wouldn't open any of the proceedings for me on Chrome.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thats one way to reduce the amount of intelligent comments..

11 years ago | Likes 42 Dislikes 1

Well, that would keep anyone internet savvy out of conversation...

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Filthy deceiver. I dug into my folder archives deep within the bad file catacombs for nearly 60 SECONDS before finding out that you feed 1/2

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

us nothing but lies and treachery! I bite my thumb at thee, Sir! 2/2

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Probably the only time I'll ever advocate reposts. REPOST THE FUCKING BAJEEZUS OUT OF THIS.

11 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 3

As much as it thrills me that people are taking this seriously, it may not do any good. The reason is that the FCC are a bureacracy that 1/2

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

doesn't actually answer to the people for funds or for getting the jobs. Bureacracies are a problem and if nothing else this campaign 2/3

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

may finally get the average non politcal person to realize that have Gov. entities not answering to the people is a problem. 3/3

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

With mid-terms coming up, if the campaign doesn't sway the FCC, it could entice incumbents to push for legislation that gets the job done.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I certainly hope so

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

REPOSSSSSSTTTTTT!!! EVERYONE GET A REPOOOOOSSSTTT!!! http://uproxx.files.wordpress.com/2013/01/comment.gif

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I was planning on resubmitting it every week until the comment period is over, or Imgur hates me. Whichever comes first.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Don't give in to the hate. Repost every week. Gizmodo is reposting their article about commenting every single day until September 10th.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm not much of an angry commenter.. Can I just sorta say like.."Come on, guys. Cool it, please."

11 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

"Stop Cable Company Fuckery"

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Just pull a Jimmy from South Park (Crips v Bloods) and be like Come on FCC...just...come on...just come....on....

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

As long as its all in CAPS LOCKS.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Absolutely! And a well worded letter to your local congresspeople couldn't hurt either.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Don't tell internet trolls what to do, they might turn on you

11 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 3

Or turn you on, if thats your sort of thing

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

He knew the risk he was taking when he did it. Sometimes the devil you know is better than the FCC...er...one you don't.

11 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

less telling them what to do, and more informing and unleashing them.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

But the difference here is, it pertains to them too. Er, us? It affects everyone who uses the internet and isn't outrageously wealthy

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I can't upvote this enough. Or complain enough. I promise to write a real, physical letter to my representatives on this one.

11 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 0

Post it here and upload it to Imgur as well please

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

where is OneDirectionForever?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

lol nobody's willing to demean themselves by creating such a foul account.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Thanks for posting this. One minor thing: I don't really see the logic in posting something defending freedom and then censoring it.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

The video posted on youtube was censored. I only had one word to worry about, and gave it little thought as I followed earlier precedence.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

OK, fair enough.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I notice @OneDirectionForever has yet to rear their head. do they exist or does no one have the balls to create that username?

They probably exist on Youtube though.

OneDirectionForever is still up for grabs. Any takers?

11 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

No? No one?

11 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

Do you blame them?

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Yet

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

One minor quibble- the cat tax is normally your OWN cat. (Or dog, or chameleon, or whatever) +1, tho

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

Rule 22, Section B, Article IX states: In the event one does not own a pet, they may provide restitution using the main subject of the post.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yeah, I was gonna include that, but got lazy. Having said that, you be needin' to find a kitten or sumpin. +1

11 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

Well, at least that's your real account name. The other dude just made an account after this post strictly for whoring.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Unless you changed your name, you clever bastard.

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

HE AWAKENS

11 years ago | Likes 66 Dislikes 1

This is why the internet was created.

11 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

I've finally realized my true destiny

11 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 1

Also props to you for changing the username on your real account instead of making a new one. You're a brave soul.

11 years ago | Likes 392 Dislikes 3

As a schizophrenic, it's no biggie.

11 years ago | Likes 146 Dislikes 1

HAAHAHAHAHAHAHA CAN I HUG YOU?

11 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 0

You can change your username? Holy shit.

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

Yes. But only once. Which is why he gets props

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The second one is a legit account, the other two were just created for this comment.

11 years ago | Likes 46 Dislikes 0

and the most terrifying

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

And yet, hasn't shown.

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Yes it has.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I'm actually really ashamed that I created a new account just for this comment.

11 years ago | Likes 879 Dislikes 13

This is your life now.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Looks like no one dared to make one called OneDirectionForever

11 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

They did. It's under the comment above this one.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

What's the 2016 mean? Is it your birth year?

11 years ago | Likes 106 Dislikes 0

Igotthatreference.jpeg

11 years ago | Likes 23 Dislikes 4

Is that a reference to something? I haven't been born yet, so I don't get it.

11 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

It's not like you were born yesterday.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I didn't get the reference, but I blew air out my nose with a bit of philosophy.

11 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

You are aware that you can change your account name in the settings at any time, right?

11 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 1

Yeah but I like my account name and don't want to lose it

11 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 1

Jut change it back after a day or two

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

I want to believe 4chan could become the elite special forces of our internet army

11 years ago | Likes 1403 Dislikes 18

They have a saying for this,"Not your personal army."

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

BSOC(/b/special operations command) answers to no government authority

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

4chan would be the marauding horde of vikings that alternatively ward off invading englishmen, and pillage their own villages.

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

4chan is internet navy, in charge of bodily fluids and bronies are their navy seal team.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

they crashed the servers according to npr

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

4chan isn't the internet's army. Why does everyone think this shit?

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 4

"Could become"?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think they'd be more like shock troops, but maybe that's just me

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

4chan is more like the Joker; you don't know if he'll throw a pie in your face as a gag, or outright pull an episode 3 anakin… while smiling

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

"special" forces, more like.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I'm sure there's potential for a south park episode in this somewhere.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Maybe not 4chan, but Anonymous as an amorphous mass of people collectively fed up with shit. They remind me of Legion.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You ARE 4chan... if you want to be.

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

You mean all I gotta do is scroll trough endless trap/fur/loli/gore threads and I can finally be 4chan?

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yup.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I like /out/. Generally a chill community where you can learn to innawoods

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

4chan: the heroes the Internet deserves, but not the one it needs.

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

4chan is the equivalent to redneck front lines that get blamed for war atrocities.

11 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

when it comes to 4chan, I can see the 'special' but not the 'elite.'

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

We need a special button that is rarely used saying "I somewhat believe in 4chan." I still want to know about 4chan vs Russia.

11 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

Unleashing 4chan, especially /b/, would violate the UCMJ, Geneva Convention, and LoAC.

11 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

You don't understand 4chan very well, then.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

The BOULER believes in 4chan...believes, not trusts--there's a difference

11 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 3

Once upon a time perhaps, but instead it spawned the political activism and general shenanigans of Anonymous.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm pretty sure the roman empire did something like that. yea. I think it was right before THEY GOT WIPED OFF THE FACE OF THE FUCKING EARTH

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 8

The Roman empire was not "wiped off the face of the earth" It was more of a systemic failure that stretched over a couple hundred years...

11 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

yea, but the idea of hiring kickass warriors from out of their area was a huge backfire that ended in a lot of shit down the road. that is

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

the parallel I attempted to make. we COULD have 4chan as the spec ops of an 'internet army' but it would fuck us all over in the end

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

Hiring kickass warriors is fine...if you can keep paying them. They eventually couldn't. Plus, not your personal army etc.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

To be fair 4chan comments are insulting 40% and intelligible 95%. Youtube holds the gold by a fucking mile for audacious abhorrent drivel.

11 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 1

You use big words. The normal functioning person in me likes this. And the American in me is insulted. Keep on keeping on Inchpunch.

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

135% total?

11 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Yeah, 5 % are legit stupid.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Insulting and intelligible are not mutually exclusive, so some of the intelligible stuff is also insulting

11 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

You realize that 4chan is just a website filled with a bunch of drooling tards fueled by anonymity. Just like Imgur.

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Not your personal army.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

4chan(/b/) has done things, not for "good" or "evil" reasons, but simply for the lulz.

11 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 1

They did it for the lulz when Dusty was being abused? I don't think so.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They have to be in the right mood, something just has to appeal to them in juuuuuust the right way.

I'm pretty sure the denizens of 4chan wouldn't be doing this for the person that asked, but because they sure as fuck want to do it too.

11 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

Tsk tsk, never talk about /b/ when no one brought it up. Not only has someone brought up 4chan, but you can talk about 4chan.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

The fuck would I know?

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 7

If you find yourself posting in an attempt to latch onto a famous place/name, it behooves you to be familiar with the social mores thereof.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

it's a 4chan thing. :)

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1
