Once at scout camp, A raccoon stood on my sleeping bag while I was in it to take my freshly sewn merit badge sash hanging above. I only know because of the footprints left behind.

Part of what I love about Victoria 3 is giving the US a better timeline.

I had relatives tell me they were praying I didn't get into college because it wasn't right to leave my mother by herself.
That's the real motto of Missouri in my experience: "Show me proud stupidity."
I'd need to have a target that meant something within reach. I'd need to have some belief that the attack would do something positive and not just be an expression of rage. If I saw the writing on the wall of a fascist takeover I'd probably sooner get my family out of the country than plan to fight.
Kansas Supreme Court ruled yesterday that their state constitution does not contain a right to vote.

Anyone in US public service should look at the waivers again. Biden expanded the criterion and mine are getting forgiven too!
Yeah we had this polite fiction where I would read ahead and then "lose my place" for my turn. Worked until an English teacher decided to hit the "independent thought alert".

Ukraine has retaken about half of the territory Russia seized but they're also running into prepared defenses now that have resulted in a bit of stalemate.

Apparently they're trying to roll it into the defense appropriations bill so it will have to survive the house and senate reconciling rather than a straight house vote.

I work for a college in Colorado and I'm doing the same thing. Worst part is that it's going to work out for me because I never get to use my sick leave. I just get to teach from home.
