Sorry for your loss. No words can ease your pain so just take the time to reflect on the good memories spent with him. You gave him the best life you could and he thrived because of you. He’s no longer in pain and is in good hands. I hope you can make another pupper as happy as you did Carter. So many dogs are in need and you might be too.
Go to any funeral and listen to how people speak about the deceased. They always speak about how they will miss them. You matter more than you think. Go volunteer for anything that helps others. I guarantee you will feel purpose and feel fulfilled. I wish you the best friend. You can do it. Chin up.
I never was a dog lover until I met my wife. She had an indoor dog and clearly stated that he was her #1. It took a little while but I learned why dogs are better than humans. Loyalty beyond belief. I now rescued a pupper for myself and realized we don’t deserve dogs. He’s my most loyal companion. I’m doing my best to give him the best life possible.
Hang in there OP. Get some help and see if some therapy or meds can help. I had suicidal thoughts for decades before getting help. Much better now but still doing resiliency reinforcement training. Be kind to yourself my friend.

Very cool. I used to dive in the canal bottle hunting. It’s really one big lake that flooded several villages leaving their trash dumps with bottles behind. Also a French train locomotive we could dive on.

Dogs are the best thing ever. Such loyal animals. Ours do this EVERY TIME we ever leave. We are their ENTIRE world. Thanks for sharing!!

My brother built a toy helicopter with an erector set and a vacuum cleaner motor. Me and my sister watched the maiden voyage and a blade flew off and went right between us and stuck into the wall behind us penetrating 4 inches deep. Phew!

Been in the same situation with my step daughter. Get them the help they need and be there for them and make sure to keep the focus on them. Don’t dismiss their feelings or try to divert them. Recognize, sympathize, and offer support. Good luck and stay strong. Fight for your kids well being and Believe.

Gotta rise above your raising. Not all parents are good parents. You learn something from every person you know. What to do and what not to do. Parents included. Drive on and do better.
