I'm a science geek and I blog. If you're interested, check it out: http://bioblogyscience.wordpress.com/

And I didn't say this before - the finished product looks phenomenal. I hope I can end up with something as nice in my new office.

The first step with the sanding, before the stain - is this important for the stain, or did you do this for the poly that would go over it?

I like the way the Gerton desk feels to the touch - I'm worried that I wouldn't like the smooth feel of polyeurethane as much.

I'm definitely interested in staining the wood. Is the polyurethane necessary, if I'm not concerned about the shine?

I know this post is old, but I'm considering doing the same thing to the Gerton top. I have one or two questions.

Except when they're better. Battlestar Galactica.

This one seems pretty happy. He's not shying away from the brushing. I'm hoping he's at some sort of wildlife sanctuary and not a pet.

I downvoted this because bushbabies aren't venomous. You're thinking of a slow loris.

I thought about some sort of pun like "toothbrushbaby" as the title, but it didn't seem all that funny.

It's a bushbaby. Probably not the best pet, since it is a wild animal. I don't know if this one is a pet or what.

No, it's not. It's a siren, and it's ironic that the person judged other peoples' memory of the Starbucks logo and DIDN'T know that.

Judging other peoples' memory of the Starbucks logo...doesn't know that it's not a mermaid in the Starbucks logo. Judgy wudgy was a bear...

What's the appeal of the funky, sour lambics? I love Belgian beer, but I tried a few 3 Fonteinen earlier this year, and I just don't get it.

Gah. I'm so confused.

No, but seriously, I want to buy this for when I announce to my husband that we're going to have a baby. He'd love it.

I'm 31 and married, but they're welcome in my house.

I see, I mis-read your comment.

Two other people? Who's the second?

But it's obnoxious that this person comes in to "correct" the original comment, when the original comment was already accurate.

The first two were different companies that merged, along with others, into CTR in 1911. CTR then became IBM.

#10 What's surprising about that is not how long the Ottoman Empire lasted, but how crazy long ago Nintendo was started.

It's true that networking is a great way to get a job - but both my husband and I landed our current jobs from cold online applications.

And I'm just sitting here drinking my Dr. Pepper (the best).
