There is a mass of people that demagogues can appeal to. It’s very rare that anyone tries to manipulate them for good purposes, some crowdfunding, maybe. The way to appeal to these people is to make them hate, just like in 1984. Most bad leaders, unlike say Trump or Hitler, don’t actually hate a lot of the people they victimize to gain power, but we are in exceptionally bad times.
Swedes tend to be patronizing toward immigrants, not murderous.
And there is no freedom. You lose rights if you are gay or non-white or non-male. You are attacked if you protest. You probably give more rights to your HMO and your HOA than you retain. The legal system is only there to oppress you. You are not free.
I suspect Netanyahu is as well. Both were convicted of a lot of crimes. Both never got sentenced. Netanyahu’s sentencing was scheduled, but then put off after massive crimes against humanity more than once. Looks like his judge wants him to trash his country.
You can remove Russia, and, possibly China. Putin is very satisfied with his bootlicker’s work.

Most states that claim to be leftist, Russia, China, and their allies are authoritarian states with leftist propaganda. Sweden, Denmark, Norway, and others are functional leftist states that don’t talk so much about being leftist. It really comes down to whether the government is functional, and there are fewer functional governments every decade. The US has been very visibly broken.
