Unfortunately, hate is a powerful rallying force. If you've got a diverse group of people with little in common, find something for them all to hate, it'll bring them together and unite them. And then just make yourself the symbol of that hate, and now they'll follow you as their leader. It's a bit of a human psychology cheat code.

It's almost as if there is a power and money hungry elite that uses ignorance as a distraction and tool for maintaining their hideously immoral grip on society.

the truth is that outside of a few vestigial backwaters, this current generation of chuds has been trained by a new kind of right-wing messaging that emphasizes the hatred of LIBERALS far more than the traditional race-baiting that their pappies and granpappies were raised on.

They still hate all those people.

What's fucked is that they still hate all of the previous groups as much as whatever new one they attach too.

They live for hierarchy, and don't know who they are without an authority telling them what it is. They always have to be kissing the butts of those above and hating on those below.

Sat in the room with my 68 year old dad a while ago, typical Irish Da, minds his own business, says very little, out of the blue he announces "I just cant see how people fall for this stuff about trans people, its the exact same lies they said about gay people when I was young, about them being a threat, it was a lie then and its a lie now, how can people be so stupid?"
Sometimes the elders are alright.

There is a mass of people that demagogues can appeal to. It’s very rare that anyone tries to manipulate them for good purposes, some crowdfunding, maybe. The way to appeal to these people is to make them hate, just like in 1984. Most bad leaders, unlike say Trump or Hitler, don’t actually hate a lot of the people they victimize to gain power, but we are in exceptionally bad times.

Notice how it's always moving to smaller and smaller groups of people in the US. (Yes, I know muslims are a massive group worldwide, but smaller in the US.) Soon enough it's going to be blaming some poor guy named Dave for everything.

1 day ago | Likes 37 Dislikes 4

That happens at my work but we don't have anyone named Dave

1 day ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It does not. Women were a much larger group than Black folks. They use small groups as the wedge, to test the waters and expand the acceptance of hate. It's more marginalized groups right now that are getting the most public hate (immigrants, the homeless, trans people) but all the other hate is still there, still active, and getting more and more open and public all the time as the hate against the more marginalized groups feels to them like it's gaining traction.

Gov. Ron DeSantis said something to the effect of "You look at students who enter college, and by the time they graduate MOST are now leftists. The schools are an indoctrination for Socialism, Marxism. If we don't do something about it, we're going to lose the entire Conservative movement."

Gaslighting, of course. What do you know... when people get EDUCATED they tend to DROP from the Conservative movement. Any wonder why? Maybe it's because people learn the truth.

1 day ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

It isn't even about education in the terms they think per se, it's about critical thinking. Collegiate level courses highly promote critical thinking, analysis of themes/tropes, understanding intent behind writings, etc... This critical thinking process elevates *most* people beyond the base superstitions that moor them to the hateful ideologies behind conservatism.

1 day ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

polite disagreement: it not because of what is taught @ college, its about all the different people they meet while there.

1 day ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Kind of! It's interconnected. Critical thinking means when someone who has been taught foreigners are evil their whole life finally meets someone from another country, they can connect the dots and say "Hey, this guy is actually kind of cool. If my folks were wrong about him, maybe those other things I was taught were wrong too?"

1 day ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Well yes, "education" is the broad term, which encompasses not just awareness and understanding, but also critical thinking skills.

I once saw a dumbass MAGAt being interviewed, asked about critical thinking, and they bounced back with "no, I'm against that woke shit." They were confusing it with "critical race theory." Dumb, dumber, dumbest, dumbfuckshittery.

They hated blacks until they needed them to win elections - now they hate them, but with deniability

They hated women - and brown people - and gay people - until they needed them to win elections - see above

Trans folks make up such a tiny portion of the population - right up there with Marvel's mutants (0.5% - some 32 million on Earth 616) that it's 'safe' to hate them because there's so few and moderates are too busy worrying about the price of gas to notice them being wiped out

A few things: America was at it most prosperous when we had an over 90% marginal tax rate.

Christianity is actually much more interested in you giving up a large amount of your money and sharing it with others. Hell, one of the few with a vow of poverty.

You're currently under the tax cuts of someone who cut as much as possible to deprive those in need and most Americans are doing worse than ever.

Whining "no u" is not constructive criticism.

1 day ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

What is the "going into poverty" situation you're referencing?

1 day ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Taxing people so much that they end up in poverty, so that they can help everyone who is in poverty.

1 day ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

Poor people generally don't pay much in taxes, if anything at all. In fact, that's something people like you like to complain about.

1 day ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

People like me? Expand on that (I love this part). Also, if you're poor, and taxes go up, it still hurts, even if you don't pay much in taxes. It amazes me how blind/ignorant leftists are to how much taxation hurts the poor.

1 day ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Do you have an example of anyone who was “taxed into poverty,” or did your dad raise you to be a liar?

Give some examples of the "hate" coming from the left, bud.

Failing to do so will be an admission that you're just making shit up to try to justify your own hate.

You can do better than "no u", can't you?

1 day ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 2

Check the replies to my comment, bud.

1 day ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 16

When people say hatred, they mean broad hatred for a class of people defined by their skin color or gender or something along those lines. They don't mean the sort of hatred that smart and kind people have for bigoted dumbasses.

1 day ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Oh, so now hatred is only allowed to be felt and applied by certain classes of people? What an awful bigot you are.

1 day ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

That isn’t hatred bub, that’s criticism. That you are unable to tell the difference between the two is telling.

1 day ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

So the people who are telling me to seriously injure/kill myself is criticism, not hatred? Wait, I'm starting to understand so much about leftist "love" now. Thank you for the clarification.

1 day ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 8

Do you not know what hyperbole is? Because nobody actually wants you to hurt yourself.

1 day ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

You haven't given a response, bud.

I highly doubt you could provide examples, because the "hate" coming from "the left" is just people telling you that the actual hate coming from people like you is unacceptable.

1 day ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 4

You obviously didn't look at any of the other replies to my comment. If you did, you'd see nothing but hate. No counter arguments. Just hate. The examples provide themselves whenever you call them out, on both sides.

1 day ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 11

Pointing out that your comment was stupid, and even that you're an idiot for saying it, isn't "hate", sweetie.

You don't have an example of hate from the left, becayse there just isn't any. You just need to pretend there is so you can try to justify your own bullshit.

It's just "no u".

Be better, bud.

1 day ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

Do society a favor and run head first into a wall.

1 day ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Excellent counter-point. It really showcases the hate that I'm speaking of.

1 day ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 7

I don’t hate you. I just don’t respect you. You and your ilk are not worthy of respect.

1 day ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Ah, so asking me to seriously injure myself is not hate? Is that how leftists show love? It doesn't surprise me. Also, your last sentence pretty much states "Anyone who disagrees with me is not worthy of respect". What a great stance to take. It really invites free-thinkers, doesn't it?

1 day ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

I actually think running into a wall might help improve your intelligence though. It was more support if anything. Also, you guys aren’t free thinkers. You blindly obey the orders of your podcasters, church leaders, and TV personalities without question. You guys are the biggest lapdogs in the population. If more of you ran head first into a wall it might actually be a serious improvement for everyone.

1 day ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

I commented on your comment by mistake. Apologies about that.

1 day ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, it's more like this - The right: "If you don't agree, kill yourself". The left: "If you don't agree with me, kill yourself." You: "SO MUCH HATE FROM THE RIGHT". I don't agree with hate, regardless of who it's coming from. Take notes.

1 day ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 4

No it absolutely is not. 100% of hate from the right is, and always has been, "I will kill you with my bare hands because I'm a big strong patriot and killing things is what gives me joy". There were no left-wing lynchings, the number of left-wing attacks are vastly outperformed by right-wing attacks. Every time there's a right-wing mass murderer, it's treated like a freak accident. Any time there's a left-wing mass murder, it's treated like they were a foaming psychopath.

1 day ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

1 day ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 3

1 day ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 19

"The leftist desire to tax the super rich and give the money to the poor and middle class is going to make everyone poor" is the stupidest thing you've said and you routinely say really really really stupid shit.

23 hours ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Did you ever stop to ask yourself if that actually makes sense for anyone to want? You clearly don't view leftists as real people, but shallow stereotypes.

1 day ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I have asked that, and that's why it amazes me that people actually want that.

23 hours ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Literally everyone here is telling you otherwise, yet you stubbornly maintain that you're correct despite the facts. So what did "asking" yourself actually involve in this case? Clearly it spurred no actual investigation of your assumptions or biases. That's not introspection, that's navelgazing.

23 hours ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No. Allowing unrestricted gain is the reason we have billionaires, their bootlivkers, and people working fulltimr while also needing welfare to survive. You're trying to mischaracterize social welfare as forced labor. It isn't. All you're spouting is regressive fantasies, amd you know they're lies - but they're the lies you WANT to believe.

1 day ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 2

No, I'm not mischaracterizing it at all. People can barely survive on what they make right now. If leftists had their way, we'd have 70-80% of our income taxed, meaning the people who are struggling right now, would be completely destroyed. It's like they'd rather sink the entire ship to take out a few people.

1 day ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 11

Sweetie, the left wants you and people like you to pay LESS in taxes.

We want the rich to pay more in taxes.

You are not in the class of people we want taxed more, and you never will be.

You just keep demonstrating that you don't actually understand the topics you're arguing about. You're just repeating obviously false right-wing talking points with absolutely nothing to back up your claims.

1 day ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yes, you are. The minimum wage hasn't been raised in over a decade. Prices have gone up, bills have gone up, but the pay hasn't. At the same time, the wealthy are wealthier. Where's that money going? Out of the pockets of people. This is all happening now, under the system you're trying to defend by implication. Leftists, not democrats, want the wealthy to pay more. This is where you lie.

1 day ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2
