I'm sure for them it wasn't, but I get you. I'm never on this app any longer. Fully nerfed and enshittified. Place is a ghost town compared to years ago.

This place has gotten a lot less engaging over the years. Lots of the same rage politics interspersed with cute animals. Even though I pretty much agree with the politics it just gets repetitive and old. Imgur is pretty much losing me. Comments are way better than YouTube though.

He is now. I'm from the largest city near his hometown where they got their start. They were known for being pricks back then. Lots of success has been good for him, apparently.

That is terrible... Bravo...

Must be some Leduc kid heard some of the others, melded it somehow and then it spread amongst kids I knew. It’s an interesting example of how much more homogenous culture is now. I’ll be the first to agree “ding Dong ditch” is a better phrase but there is less variety I think.

This is an even better example than “hoodie”, “kangaroo jacket”, or “buddy hug”.

Grew up in Leduc in the 80s. We called it “Ring a bell ginger”.

Best sorry I heard was the architecture prof having students take their designs over to the engineering department and then whining when they got back that their designs couldn't physically be built.

Died choking on vomit. Only it wasn't his vomit. So sad indeed...

Eh... I work with architects every day. They don't do much math compared to the engineers. Trust me. It's better this way. Lol

I believe Mark Knopfler sings "mother trucker" or some variant now. I feel like I've heard a censored version on the air but can't be sure.

The crazy thing about it was when the NDP was near the end of their term, people would say things like "yeah, get those leftists out" and I'd ask "what would UCP do differently? Oil by rail? Turn off the taps?" Came down to same old small minded thinking. And now "take back Alberta" is trying re in the show, heaven help us.

Lifelong Albertan here. It is slowly getting more left. We had an NDP government for one term. UCP was only 1300 votes away in Calgary from losing the last election. Hoping this CPP, parental rights, and “disaggregating” AHS nonsense shows how loony they are and they lose the next election. 2027 is a long ways away, though. :-(

Suncor is a Canadian oil company. Major stake in the alberta oil sands but then purchased another conventional pile company. Petrocan, I think?

I mean, Obama would be a loss to the world even though his ability to effect change can't compare to when he was in office. I would feel quite sad, even as a Canadian.
Trump, on the other hand, I would be very upset at his passing as his escaping justice would mean the lost opportunity for law and order to triumph.

Could be a townhouse.

As a dad, I am completely exhausted, but if I put on an act, I might just actually feel it for real. There are a million exhausting work days but they only grow up once. Better they remember the dad that was jazzed to be with them even if I didn't feel 100% every day.

Albertan here. Very few Albertans want to leave CPP. This is red meat Danielle Smith is shovelling out to her right wing talk radio base. Conservatives say they will hold a referendum on it (it would be pitchforks outside the Legislature if they didn't do that). Also, the amount she claims to be able to take is laughably wrong to everyone but her and a few others. By that rationale, Ontario could walk away with, like, 130% of the fund value. She's an idiot and I'm embarrassed for my province.

Not the title of my autobiography...

Silly question: how well do they get along? They sound like really nice guys. I ask as I was paired with a roommate as a camp counselor because people thought we were "alike". Didn't really like the guy and made me wonder if I was as annoying as him. Spoiler: 18 yr old me probably was.

I believe that's Ali Bongo. His father was Omar Bongo, the previous president since the 1960s until his death.

Is it by Zumdal? If so, I have a copy!

Try searching Stefani Sierra ;-)

As an Albertan as much as I hate to admit it, Quebec has a "say", but it's really the 905 around Toronto that really swings the country around, politically.

Traditionally, yes, but Calgary really seems to be drifting left in recent years. Here's hoping it continues. (~2000 votes in Cowtown would have seen Danielle Smith out of office.)

Yeah, on balance I like Trudeau (not perfect by any means), but PP could be a disaster in many ways. Despite those beliefs, you won't see me flying a F*ck Poilievre flag. It should be a conflict of political ideas, people; not a tribal feud.

They're forging the cast iron by heating it up and squishing it in a specific manner. This alters the grain structure of the metal to achieve desired properties. They may heat and cool after this to further refine the grain size and related properties (strength, ductility, etc)

Not many people know this, but he spent 20 years in the can!
