Two dads? Don't tell the right.

That's pretty amazing.

Ha ha... babies are so dumb :-)

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Legend has it they are still passing the baby to this day...

baby is like

5min later and the guys will not know whose kid it is.

Haha my twin and I aren't identical (same gender though) and his son has only gotten us confused a few times. The issue is he's tall with hair and I'm short and bald. If we're sitting and I'm wearing a hat, he can get a bit confused

Uncle daddy!

I have friends who just had a baby, and both of them have identical twins. I am sending them this so they can test it out!

And if the parents twin siblings would ha children as well the kids would be cousins but genetically count as siblings.

Groundhog dad

Does his wife have the same reaction?

There was a set of identical twins at my school and I wasn't super close with them but after about a month I could tell the difference clearly even with brief interactions. One of them had a girlfriend and EVERY. SINGLE. MORNING. she'd ask others who is her boyfriend before going up to him. Some people can tell, some are forever lost.

I remember my aunt being so proud when she could easily tell two twins that she used to watch when they were little apart when their mother apparently struggled. Supposedly, one of the two girls had a scar on her eyebrow or something like that.

As is Spartan Law.

According to a genetic test they are both that child's father.

And only the mother knows the real one. Not even her, if she's a real slag.

I think mitochondrial DNA will be different.

2 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 11

They have the same mother, so no.

2 years ago | Likes 30 Dislikes 0

In his defense he did say he thought so... He didn't say he was sure, or even that he knew what mtdna was.

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Mitochondrial DNA is only given from the Mother as the sperm doesnt carry any. If it were... i mean arguing to twin sisters whos baby it is....id recommend on that level of charisma if it comes down to motochondrial checks

That’s so fucking neat

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I believe rare instances have been found where mitochondrial DNA was not from the mother

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Aren’t there only 2 types of mitochondrial DNA? Meaning we all descended from one of two women (or species?)

2 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

yet they used mitochondrial DNA to see difference between twis

2 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Edit: Mitochondria* is given by the mother (and thus its DNA)

Moms are the powerhouses of the cell. This is known.

Even the abstract says "5/10" so while theoretically possible and technically correct, it might not be true to all twins, or at least our sequencing methods are yet not advanced enough to detail that. Thanks for providing the articel, interesting read. My next question is though, if a son would then by theory also habe a 3rd set of mutations, still possible to identify a father by a specific previously occuring mutation. Very cool thanks again

Can confirm. My dad is a twin and it’s like having two fathers. Which is rad in my case, because they’re loving. Would be hard otherwise.

Imagine having to avoid two sets of jumper cables.

Much better than Good Dad, Evil Dad. Although Evil Dad probably has a private island with a volcano and owns a private jet.

How is really different to having a nice uncle other than the looks?

2 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

Well, he’s my godfather. They have the same personality. Anytime we’re all together it’s like— Bro, there’s two of them. They smell the same. They dress the same. They’re the same dude. Are all uncles identical to your father? Because he is identical to mine. It’s uncanny. And it’s awesome.

Silly question: how well do they get along? They sound like really nice guys. I ask as I was paired with a roommate as a camp counselor because people thought we were "alike". Didn't really like the guy and made me wonder if I was as annoying as him. Spoiler: 18 yr old me probably was.

2 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Sounds lovely. But personality is only vaguely defined by genetics so that's a bit of a crapshoot whether they *behave* the same.

2 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 2

/shrug. My dad and his twin are identical at age 77. I don't know why you have to fight me on this.

2 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 1

no no no escalini said your uncles probably don't behave the same so guess what buddy. how dare you question escalini's knowledge of your uncles. smh no respect these days I swear

2 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

It's not like you made a claim all twin dad's will be identical in personality, you literally just shared your personal experience and that was all.
