But the MCU movies are mostly mediocre at best. If they got the deadpool style separate writing and production teams thing then maybe.

1 has not aged gracefully. If you get sick of it, move on. You can read a good synopsis and be pretty set for the big events.
I'm under the impression that college kids want an affordable education, not to misappropriate funds for the legitimately underprivileged.

I think the reason they still do it is because the engine is ancient and not as demanding on resources. BF1 split screen would melt consoles
According to BF4 stats, you get about 12,000 concurrent PC players at any one time. I've just gotten back into it, always some full servers.
It's been described as an "above average shooter" with a tacked on, hollow-feeling single player campaign.
