I did admittedly like the first Battlefront reboot KINDA, I was more excited to play a gorgeous modern Star Wars game but was let down with

Fuck EA, give the rights to project red, a studio that made great games and didn't fuck their customers at the same time

i feel there should never be exclusive rights for game companis with star wars, this way we could get multiple games from multiple 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

dev groups, dice is a perfect match for a battlefront game, however... ea is not.

Don't forget that Disney approved everything EA did, and even forbid EA from adding cosmetics in place of many lootboxes.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That being said, BF2 is still hella fun and I play daily

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 4

I don’t understand the hate for bf2, haven’t spent more than 30 dollars on it and I have every character unlocked.

I called tmobile support the other week and the guy who answered the phone said his name was "The world famous A-A-ron". He was a big 1/2

EA used to be a really awesome company

It used to be in the game

Use to be. Key words there lol

I don't remember that I just remember them buying really awesome companies to gut them.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Didn't they make King's Bounty back in the day?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

when????

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 6

Need for speed underground 2 to this day is still the best game I've ever played

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

15 years ago maybe

8 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 4

Nope even then we got 20 DLC's to the Sims 2

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I agree. All of the PS1 and PS2 NFS games, PS2 SSX series, Burnout 3... The list goes on and on.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

But then everything changed when the microtransactions attacked

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 1

There was a significant drop in quality before microtransactions tho

they were.... till 2001

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

No he's right, it might sound like a stupid "90s kid" thing, but in the early 2000s era EA wasn't bad

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 0

Need for speed hot pursuit II.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I grew up on medal of honor and command and conquer, too me EA was kickass, now it's a evil virus of Satan

This game. Man the memories.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The medal of honor allied assult series was revolutionary in my eyes, remember spending months making maps for MP when i was 14!!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Did some maps too but for Quake III Arena. Heaps of fun. Always wanted to try the other Quake3 engine games too.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

BF1942 mapper here. Best years of gaming.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It really was, still play MOHAA and bf1942 occasionally with bots bit its not the same.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They still are. They make a lot more games than people expect. The internet just likes to focus on the negative stuff

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

Shit, even Bf2 was blown out of proportion considering that was just to unlock ALL heroes and considering how much time they play skyrim

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 5

40h to get Vader alone in a full price game was not blown out of proportion...

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Which I'd take a lot more seriously as a complaint if you guys didn't talk about playing Skyrim for 5000 hours

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Ah yes, because an expansive immersive massive world with hundreds of quests and a multiplayer FPS are identical gameplay experiences. :P /s

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

No they're not, they charge full retail price for a game with free-to-play pricing design, and buy exclusive licenses so no one can compete.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

2K football

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Right except for the times they don't, because as both developer and publisher, the list of games they've made is a lot longer

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 3

6 games in 2017 is not a long list, and none of them were good. Which of their sports sims redeems BF2?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Developed or published cause they do both

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Published or developed cause they do both

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

In 2017 they released 6 games and 3 expansions. 3 games were generic annual sports releases, the others were Andromeda, BF2, and NfS Payback

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Andromeda was an obvious beta release, Bf2 was explotative as could be, and Need for Speed Payback has awful reviews atm.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

What games did they make that redeem their quality?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

In a perfect world the rights would go to Nintendo but I doubt they would ever spend that much for an IP since they have so many good ones.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 2

Nintendo would never do that. Its too much to invest in someone else's idea. Valve would be the best option.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Nintendo isn't the right fit either, I don't think they'd handle the Star Wars IP very well. It'd be better not to make it exclusive & 1

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

2 allow any developer to get a Star Wars license provided they meet certain criteria and follow Disney's guidelines.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I would bet Activision if they can intrude on battle.net. could get star wars stuff in overwatch then to if they can get a good deal.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

My friend suggested CD Projekt Red. Imagine a Witcher 3 style KOTOR.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

So Cyberpunk without sabers?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Unpopular opinion: BF2 is one of the funnest games I’ve played, both story mode and multiplayer, and I haven’t spent a dime

8 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 12

Assuming you meant BattleField Bad Company 2. Or Original Battlefront 2. Or Banjo Fazooie 2 (misprint cartridge maybe?)

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I agree. And despite how bad EA might have acted, I cant NOT enjoy the game because of that. It's a good game, and nothing is changing that.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

You’re not wrong, story mode was pretty good. Disney doesn’t like bad press when they’re launching a film.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

...story mode? Each to his own I suppose, but the story mode was atrocious. What did you like about it?

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

I liked being able to play as Han, Luke, Leia and especially Lando. The ‘story’ was ok but the gameplay was great

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

BF1 was worst game I ever played and I spent $65 so won't be attempting BF2 even if free.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 9

v

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

What was wrong with it (monetization issues excluded) from a purely gameplay mechanics point of view?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Only problem I had was lack of content. No single player, not enough modes or maps. I wasn't kept interested long enough for dlc.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Second one has better multiplayer, but the single player is one long tutorial for game mechanics and nothing to write home about.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Did I miss something? Has Disney stepped in on Battlefront?

8 years ago | Likes 1685 Dislikes 10

Technically battlefront was a result of Disney.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

No, its all unverifiable bullshit from completely anonymous sources. Ive got an anon who says EA is going to launch Disney World into space.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Elon vs. Disney. The real winner is us!

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

yes

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 2

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Not. Yet. Sadly

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Some guy posted a rumor with 0 sources and it is being taken as gospel. No one has confirmed the story at all.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

There was last week some news, Disney had a clause in the contract and EA did not keep to those clauses. hasnt been said what they were tho

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 0

"Don't fuck this up."

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Yes, but don't get too excited. If they do drop EA, it'll only be to sign another exclusive deal with Ubisoft, or Activision.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Basically trading one immoral, incompetent evil empire for another one.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes, but that was months ago. I'm not sure what OP is referring to.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They did in the past. They were the ones who came in and told EA to cut the crap with the loot boxes.

8 years ago | Likes 33 Dislikes 2

But EA recently stated they are bringing them back to make up for lost sales.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Naw, they stated that loot boxes were coming back eventually when they initially pulled them.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

"lost sales" that they caused with their own bullshit.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

Never said it wasn't their fault (absolutely is), just relaying the info.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Oh yeah, didn't mean to imply that, just reinforcing that EA fucked themselves over by being idiots.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

There was a meeting between them. Nothing disclosed, nothing has changed. The internet and every gaming journal is jumping to conclusions.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Rest assured it’s a meeting EA didn’t want to be in.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I can hope abd pray, but i don't invest in futures.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Disney told EA to make Battlefront 2 not a disaster. EA made it a disaster. Disney told EA to remove lootboxes. EA temporarily disabled them

8 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 2

They didn't disable loot boxes, just the crystal microtransactions

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Now disney is sick of EA's shit.

8 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 1

EA Supports "borderline" gambling in/for their games and disney is a heavily family-oriented company...So...

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

the whole lootboxes =gambling thing bugs me because it's basically (sometimes literally) ccg packs done virtually. iI agree that they 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

need regulation to some extent, but people seem to be jumping the gun slightly. Extra Credits on YouTube has some good content on it. 2/2

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I got an email from EA offering me 85% off selected games (Didn't look) mfw:

8 years ago | Likes 388 Dislikes 3

The ps store has BF2 60% off lol

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I got two of them, didn't even opened them

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

You guys realize that February is always EA sales month, right?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nope! But 85%? That's crazy good. I just don't support them anymore. Feel they gotta learn

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I mean yeah, that's an insane sale, even higher than those Winter Sales. I won't lie, I own a few EA games. I have to REALLY want it.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I caved and bought Battlefield 1 cause it was $10.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 4

It’s great game, you got a bargain

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Ah I never liked it. Was missing something :(

8 years ago | Likes 14 Dislikes 2

IT WAS A MOMENT OF WEAKNESS

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I bought it recently too! I need to get more into it if you need a Squadmate ;) Loved BF3, and BF1 looks solid.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I got a similar one. It said "75% off! (That's a big number!!)" Gee, thanks for spelling it out for me, ya condescending jackasses.

8 years ago | Likes 97 Dislikes 1

EA is all about those numbers. They like nothing more than big numbers. Blind to literally everything else though.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yeah, being sassy with deals only works if people like you. Steam could do it, EA could not.

8 years ago | Likes 45 Dislikes 2

EA is a scumbag publisher second only to Ubisoft

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Is Ubisoft really worse than EA?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

Damn! That's some Steam level discounts. www.gabegaming.com

8 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 1

Ive found that steam sucks. Ive always found better deals at CDKeys. Bought Division for $22 vs $30ish. BF2 is $48 atm. Ive not see better

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I wanna play BF2 but only if it comes for $20 to $30 CAD. I hope thats soon.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

There's a reason Kinguin/CDKeys can sell them so much cheaper than Steam, but Steam is great on its own.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

BTW Trump is president.

8 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 4

I thought it was (semi-?)confirmed that kid rock was just doing that as a publicity stunt?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Haha yeah and Oprah will run against Trump! But.only after a unified Korean team compete in the Olympics.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

MN here, we haven't forgotten.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yes, there are rumors Disney will pull EA’s license for Battlefront and that they also have spoken with Ubisof and Activision to pick it up.

8 years ago | Likes 163 Dislikes 2

i think out of those two, activision would be THEIR (disney) best bet. casual gamers loooooove activision products.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Good lord. Frying pan > fire with those two.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's like taking the game away from Satan and giving it to Belial.

ubisoft plz

Give Star Wars to CD Projekt Red!

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 0

They're busy.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Instead of selling the rights to a major conglomerate. Bring back Lucas Arts and sell of rights on an individual bases. Examples: /1

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Make a deal with Insomniac, they know what they're doing with the Spider-Man game.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I thought it was the entire Star Wars license in general that may be pulled?

8 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Yeah I meant Star Wars license.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yes. I believe he meant, "license pulled because of Battlefront."

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

For all their dev faults, Ubisoft have a decent habit of writing interesting and indepth stories. So i'm excited for this.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 4

Habit my ass.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

explain ass creed.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I actually enjoy those stories. The gameplay is hit an miss, however Syndicate and Unity were all terrible all the time.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

They also tend to actually make interesting, original games once in a while.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They jump out of the mould every now and again. Sometimes it works, some times it fails hard, but they try.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

(2)I almost feel like they use their 'cash cow' games to offset the risks of creating new games, rather than just making more money like EA.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Hey, if it allows them the financial freedom to step out of their comfort zone once and a while I'm all for it.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Have you fucking played Wildlands? It was written by a 12 year old that watched an action movie

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Nah, I stayed away from that one, just didn't interest me.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Took complicated issues like international politics and ended up "Shitballs!" "Tango is fucking down" "haha we just assassinated someone:

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You made the right call. Started out well, and then it just took an "America fuck yeah" turn

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Make a deal with blizzard. Star wars skins in overwatch

8 years ago | Likes 27 Dislikes 11

Fuck blizzard

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 20

Activision and Blizzard are literally one and the same company.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 1

As a Canadian. Fuck blizzards.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

oh boy more loot boxes!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Yeah!

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Give the license to Bethesda. Sure it'd be a bit buggy but in a fun way. And we'd get a massive open world. Just imagine it.

8 years ago | Likes 35 Dislikes 9

Give it to the team that made doom

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

No more open world bullshit. Not everything needs an open world

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 7

We need an open world to find where your sense of wonder went dawg

8 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 3

I’d play it... if I had TIME FOR ANOTHER OPEN WORLD GAME HOW MANY WORLDS DO YOU EXPECT ME TO EXPLORE!?!?

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

give it to a smaller dev with no history of being shitty.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

The only devs with no history of being shitty are the ones with no history.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I should actually correct myself and not say devs, the publishers are really the problem.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Can't say I've ever had a bad experience with CD Projekt Red

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They would implement a paid mods system and keep 80% of the profit on sales.

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 3

That was a shitty move by Bethesda, but honestly 99% of that was just poor implementation. *And* they kept the free mod page as well. 1/2

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

That pales in comparison to the like of Ubi, Activision, and EA.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

Please no. I loved Bethesda, I really did. But they've gone to shit. There is no excuse for fallout 4

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

What was wrong with Fall Out 4? It wasn't as good as 3 and NV, but I still enjoyed it.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Same issue I have with previous titles, but worse. Let me preface this with, I'm a big fallout fan

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

their animations look like they weren't designed by an intern. Not to mention this iteration of fallout was a DLC nightmare. Bethesda DLC

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

fix issues nearly three years into a games life cycle. It would be fantastic if at any point in the studio's existence they tried to make

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

used to be fantastic, now we have a fucking workshop selling pipboy color changes.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I'm so fucking sick of Bethesda's lazy ass releasing broken products and never fixing them. I shouldn't need an "unofficial patch" to

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

As much as I hate EA, neither of those companies would be any better. Well, mostly ubisoft. But you'll get a CoD copypaste with activision.

8 years ago | Likes 65 Dislikes 7

Ill just see if theres a skin mod for my current version then.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ubisoft can do good. Really, their biggest problem is their DRM and bloatware on PC, but they've improved quite a lot after AC took a break

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

It was only two years between the release of Syndicate and Origins, that's not much of a break, most franchises go that long between games.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Its not, but the fact that they improved the quality by so much in that little time is evident of how much better they've been doing.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Nah, activision doesnt turn their liscenses into CoD...they just dont give them a reasonable budget.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Every Acti game that isnt CoD or destiny always feels so...cheap.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

to be fair, pretty much all the CoD games since CoD4 also feel cheap...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Funny, I feel the same, but with activision. Mostly due to their cunt of a CEO, Bobby Fuckin Kotick.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Eh, Ubisoft’s improved as of late. Certainly not models, but they’ve done more to improve their rep than a lot of other major publishers.

8 years ago | Likes 41 Dislikes 2

I hope you like being only able to play it through UPlay and it being bundled with 8 types of DRM that they'll later say don't work

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ubisoft means I either have to play on console or install uplay, and I'm not installing uplay so...

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Better than EA continuing to shit into a strainer, plop it onto a plate, then serve it with a $50 price tag (not including DLC)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I actually like Ubisoft. They seem to try to encourage microtransactions by making fun games rather than gambling simulators.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Or they could take a fucking note from Capcom and release a full fucking game

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Eh... after Capcom did it's part in killing off megaman I'm not too fond of them either.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Ubisoft promises a lot, doesn't deliver, but has amazing followup (see The Division and R6:Siege)

8 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 12

Wild lands was a lukewarm disappointment, the division was a flop. R6 is a microtranscction shithole.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

The division STILL isn't to where they said it would be on launch.

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 3

True, but with 1.8, Resistance and new maps for free, I'd say I'll give it a pass. Its still a fun game.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

Well, take what they say with a grain of salt and look at what's been made. Is it good? Is it fun? That's all you need to worry about.

8 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

And For Honor.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

No, the followup wasn't good enough or fast enough. Should've happened in the first month.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0
