I run several bands - there's the creative benefits, but it's a great way to build community and connections with people. I do photography for the same reasons, and have built a name for myself in the local music scene by just showing up and taking cool pictures for people
Ouch. I didn't know I was going to be hurt like that today
The first few weeks are weird and uncomfortable, with a lot of emotions. Once you get through that and a couple of things settle emotionally, it gets away easier. Stick to it - whatever you've got to tell yourself to keep the ball rolling the first few weeks
