The only one here that is any way accurate is slave Leia. I actually admire hot people doing good cosplay, those bodies are a work of art themselves and hard to maintain, but don't spin it to just be titty red skin lady and call it Darth maul.
Oh that's pretty interesting, and good to hear to be honest - cash is a pain. I mean they were better than their reputation when I last went in 2019 but you still definitely needed it the odd time!
And finally, join as many local led walking tours as possible! A surprising amount of elderly lead them to stay active (my absolute favourite being a tiny woman in her late 80s who demanded we call her Echo-chan because she has a loud voice) and they are so amazingly knowledgeable and passionate about their home. And will absolutely recommend places that are not just tourist traps for food etc.
Also, remember your Kmarts (that's where the ATMs are and Japan is still largely cash-centric). Watch how the locals queue for things and copy them. I found pocket WiFi handy and you can pick it up at the airport, but some prefer SIMs. Plan your route ahead of time the JR pass is phenomenal but not ALWAYS worth it. Trust all the food, their standards are insanely good. All transportation will be on time, if you're even a minute off there's no checking 'just in case', it's gone
The golden route is recommended for Japan first timers. Tokyo-Hakone-Kyoto-Osaka-Hiroshima. But I love the northern one through the Japanese Alps! Still Tokyo-Kyoto but stopping at a bunch of amazing small towns between like Takayama. You can find both the routes on the JR website.
