Landlords, private or corporate, are a parasite species. "The Market" is an illusion made up by the rich people who control the assets. There is no market, especially not in an unregulated capitalist hellscape like the US. There can be no market, because there will always be historical imbalance. Landlords should not exist because land should not be owned.

Anecdotal, but mostly when you think some food alternative is "shit" or "fake" is because you're not used to it. I did a year eating Vegan - had to give up because of finances - and the plant milks stayed with me, because after losing my habit for cow milk I preferred the plant versions.

Very well said. I wanted to put that in my original comment, but ran out of characters. Homeless implies the person lacks something, unhoused implies they have been failed to be provided with it by the society they live within.
We can do both at the same time, and one will help the other. Words can be powerful. They won't change anyone's fixed opinions, but some fencesitters may change their mind, and young people being just raised up with the new wording might immediately shift to the more desirable position.
In part it's a desire for accuracy, as others have noted, and in part it is the euphemism treadmill in action. There's also an element of factualism. "Homes" are an ephemeral, emotional thing. An unhoused person might, temporarily, think of a certain place they frequently rest at as their "home". But housing is a factual, physical thing. They don't lack homes, they lack houses. Also calling them "un"housed instead of house"less" redirects the blame onto society, instead of moral failings.
With Lower Decks cancelled this is the only place I can get my comedy Trek fix. Never stop, I beg of you!
