I love space, sci-fi, and food. My biggest wish is to go explore the stars and see what other worlds are out there. Be excellent to each other. Obligatory Imgur meta joke: get this to the Frontpage, and I'll post my favorite sandwich recepies.

German cops are racist, power-tripping scumbags, like other places. The law is blindly on the side of cops, not civilians or freedom of expression. Most Germans don't care or make excuses for this stuff because it mostly happens to minorities. German media parrots police without question when they have a proven track record of closing ranks & collaborating on testimonies when complaints are filed. German law enforcement and punitive laws never denazified after WWII. (pissed off Berliner here)

This was at one of many pro-palestinian protests in Berlin where the cops harass, agitate, and brutalize protesters at will. Any amount of talk back, "resisting arrest" by moving away or pushing away a cop illegally harassing you, or just for whatever reason, ends like this. There are so many more brutal clips out there. The EU civil rights commission has reprimanded Germany for its suppression and police brutality of protestors. This is just the tip of the iceberg.

Germany is voting on making it mandatory again. This post is seriously lacking context to bait people with misleading headlines

It's most likely regular commuters and cargo that's scheduled, but I can confirm that there are far fewer Canadian visitors nowadays than last year. It's been quite noticeable (source: live in town near the border)

The German govt. blurs their official policy deliberately to not incriminate themselves for being accessories to war crimes (again). They have slowed and halted future export licenses, but will still honor and fulfill existing contracts. This even includes a nuclear submarine. Despite public opinion shifting the govt. all but unconditionally supports Israel. It's too little too late, but at the same time it's a huge and taboo policy change. Like, only an ICJ ruling would be faster. Imo anyway

As if every Western journalist who lies, obfuscates, or omits information about Palestine isn't the West hiding what we see because it's "what they want us to (not) see". This isn't some psy-op or propaganda, this is common sense. This timeline has us on the same side as Liz Cheney, and siding with the damn NRA that trans people have 2nd amendment rights. Stop this childish nonsense. If your first reaction to this tweet is to criticize the author and not the message, just be quiet. Smh

All Western nations have been either directly complicit, indirectly complicit, or have kept silent on the issue. European silence and support kills too and they have willingly let it come that way. So as as a European, fuck off with that apology/excuse shit.

Even the more recent "progress" is virtue signaling at the best, and staying out of the ICC for failure to prevent genocide at worst. Europe has dragged its feet and blindly trusted and repeated IDF military speakers words to this day.

Zionism inherently requires the expulsion of local arabs & Palestinians, and a rejection of the existence of a Palestinian state. They cannot coexist. Also all of "Israel" is on occupied territory so them withdrawing would mean dissolving the Israeli state. Even if the demand was to return to 1967 or 1947 borders, "Israel" would never agree to that. It's settler colonialism and indigenous genocide all the way down

A ceasefire that Israel violated and was never in any serious consequences of losing any support. Remember when Biden paused the 2,000lb bomb shipments because of concerns for sue in densely populated areas? And then he started then again shortly after. All of Gaza is densely populated. At no point was there ever any additional pressure in halting arms, the only way Israel would stick to the ceasefire agreements. There was never any intention of putting pressure on Israel to see it succeed

The dems and Biden had four years to prep for a Trump rematch and squandered it. They should have been setting up newer/ younger dems as possible candidates ages ago, even if Biden had stayed in tip top condition. Especially a politician of his level of experience should have seen the bigger picture and planned ahead. Sure, his policies were the most beneficial to U.S. workers in a while, but not thinking about the long game was a critical error.

Yes it can you braindead bootlicker. There's the conflicts Israel has with countries other than Palestine,
(including the West Bank because of different "ruling" party), the period before Hamas gained power in Gaza 20 years ago, and the time period between 1948 and 1988 (when Hamas was founded), during with Israel was the same genocide-based, settler-colonial, artifical state propped up by US weapons and lies. Seriously, not even hard to debunk your statement.

This is absolutely incorrect. German news is defacto Israeli propaganda, the BBC has repeatedly been exposed for anti-Palestinian bias, and the list goes on. Western=European in most cases, even if it isn't as bad as US news. Most EU news parrot IDF spokespeople nonstop and question the veracity of Palestinian sources to erode credibility, journalists have been fored and muzzled, told not to report on this, etc. Also EU provides Israel with political cover, and their news media are complicit

Not gonna lie, the world would be a much better place without him. Given his violations of laws, election interference, visa fraud, falsified business records, hate speech & Nazi salute, he'd be criminally charged & there is nothing wrong with demanding accountability.

Imo, it's more unmoral to let other suffer because you're hoarding wealth excessively, than the legitimate call for someone's removal. He's also the most powerful & wealthy Nazi on the planet, so he's gotta go one way or another.

The companies are the accomplishments of the staff there, not Musk, so I wouldn't consider that to be a plus point for Musk nor does it excuse anything about his character. He exploits his staff like crazy too, qnd pumping in capital into an existing company as a nep baby isn't an accomplishment. EVs are there to save the car industry, not the planet, and Teslas are notoriously shit and flammable. Musk's "contributions" also don't make up for his inexcusable hateful rhetoric.

It's not like "people we don't like deserve to die" arbitrarily. If anything the sentiment is that a scooby-doo ass villain who plays with the politics of nations, economies, global knowledge squares with zero regard for millions of others, who will never feel the consequences of his actions, and who is performatively cruel, willfully ignorant, hostile and childish, should not wield the power and influence he does. Elon is a threat to civility, he's a corrupt oligarch & shouldnt have that power.

There's his horrible neo-Nazi politics, his interference in democratic elections (US and Europe now), his open cooperation with tyrants and dictators, his purchase of Twitter and destruction of one of the biggest internet bulletin boards that businesses, emergency services & governments used, his obsession with fighting "the woke mind virus" and promoting views that endanger queer people,.... the list keeps going. He might not have killed anyone directly, but he'll rally the crowd that does/will

The show does get a bit worse after that, so I'd say savor the moment and prepare for big studio interference to change the social criticism tone. Still worth finding out what the story was and to see the cast, but the first three seasons are by far the best. Enjoy the rest of the show though, it's still gorgeous spaceships and stuff lol

No US military personnel in the middle east are heroes, sorry. I'm not saying they weren't "heroic" towards each other or capable people, but invading countries, destabilizing them, terrorizing the population, and committing countless warcrimes is not what heroes do - end of story. Her husband's status shouldn't impact her service record, but being a white supremacist wasn't a deal breaker, so who knows what her attitudes were.

^ THIS. Seriously people, have your VPN be outside US/5 Eyes countries because jurisdiction is super important. Having a record of not helping governments should also be a non-negotiable requirement

German here, and yes, Germans are thoroughly racist people, absolutely. It might not be as blatant as in some parts of the US, but anti-arab & anti-muslim sentiments are incredibly strong in Germany. When any pro-Palestinian sympathy is shut down immediately as "hateful" and antisemitic because it's so taboo to question Isreal even a little bit as they wage brutal genocide - that's racist too. Erinnerungskultur ist auch nur selektiv, werden wir auch an die Opfer des Genozides denken?

Other German here, original comment is absolutely correct. Germany has fanatical gone down a role of ultimate Israeli appeasement, is a key weapons supplier, provides political cover for Israel and has violently suppressed any pro-Palestinian or pro-human rights voices. Germany reads "never again" selectively and German guilt has shaped the entire discourse as a taboo subject. German politicians lie and Gazans die. Halt gefälligst deine dumme Fresse du selten dämlicher Vollidiot

Styrofoam (when broken down into the small balls/pebbles) dissolves into a sticky paste in gasoline, so when it breaks the flammable goo sticks to surfaces (and vehicles).

It's been horrible to see how Imgurians turn on those who speak up and call for action the moment they criticize Democrats. Harris' claim to end the war in Gaza was lipservice at best when she (and Biden) have done nothing but facilitate Israel's warcrimes for over a year despite the whole world calling in outrage for an end. They're just pissed they made their bed and now need to lay in it

Under international human right law, Hospitals DO NOT lose their protected status, NO MATTER WHAT. Even if there were combatants there, that does NOT absolve the attacker from respecting international law at any point and safeguarding civilian life. It is NEVER right to strike a hospital. Also, every Israeli hospital has I"D"F soldiers in it, does that make them valid targets? Of course not. Go make. Excuses for warcrimes someplace else you illiterate troll

Palestinians have been defending themselves since 1948 and let's be clear that was Israel is doing now is not remotely close to self defense. Also, Ukraine isn't raising everything in its path, slaughtering civilians with bombs everyday and committing warcrimes by collective punishment of civilian populations.
