sweg sweg sweg.

We dont hear about the ones who try and pacify and get murdered anyways. Go out fighting.

Even if you're both armed, looked into some knife fighting stuff and "the outside of the arm is the best place to be cut, so put that toward the enem" seems to be relatively common. You basically expect to be cut in a fight and hope you do more damage than they do.

But to me, that looks about even republican and democrat. The point is very basically there are ~70million republican voters across the United States and ~70m democrat voters who tend to be grouped up in cities. Republicans see the USA as conservative because the 6 houses on their street have trump signs but dont understand a single apartment building in a city has 50 democrats.
You're just getting limited by human cognition like every other human in the world.

Its not about money or rule of law, its about enjoying inflicting cruelty to others. ICE goes out of their way to skip due process and deport people without the order of a court. They have deported people who have a lawfully ordered court hearing the next day. They continue to do criminal acts and hae like 8000+ legal injunction against them but no consequences.

Its hard, because if you try hard enough you can be really good friends with a piece of shit. You learn to compartmentalize all the unacceptable things they say or do as "just a little bit too far" until you're saying and doing things that would have sent your younger self running. 3/3

They give you a place to belong and share a lot in common with you, and then they start feeling out how far you will go in order to continue being friends. Soon spicy jokes become daily talking points. They slowly normalize talking like a right wing extremist by saying its 'just jokes' until they've pushed the overton window so far that you're making "spicy jokes" as a habit and willing to accept them making batshit racist remarks. Seen some stuff on actual good undercover work 2/?

Right wing groups, I think specifically the KKK back in the day, would go to convention centers to drop pamphlets on peoples cars. During a time where being a nerd or into niche media was weird, the targets were people who were looking for a group to belong to and hadn't gotten comfortable being into XYZ yet. Gonna be real, nerdy stuff is still used as escapism from """normal""" societal expectations meaning nerds are still targets for conversion. 1/?

Not entirely but yes, gerrymandering helps a lot. When more people vote they tend to vote democrat. Things like Hillary Clinton getting 52% of the popular votes but ~40% of the electoral votes happens. The problem is republicans stating 'why is 80% of the map red, but democrats have 50% of the popular vote, it must be election fraud. How do they win ANY election?" and the second map is to disprove it. But yea, sometimes the popular vote goes republican, that isn't proof that democrats dont exist

When more people vote, they tend to vote democrat. Popular vote is great only when the system is designed to make it easy to vote since so many people fall through the cracks. Make voting days a federal holiday and/or REQUIRED that everyone votes with a penalty if you refuse (or don't fill out the paperwork stating WHY you should be exempt.)

kill them in a mobile fashion so keeping ~2k to 10k prisoners alive in a camp and turning it into a death camp later was a major part of the plan. BUT, even though top german leaders knew, even at the Wannsee Conference after killing hundreds of thousands of jews in the street, they still had to slowly and logically unveil "we have camps already built and ready. This is just to get you on track" to the people who DIDNT know. 3/3

It wasn't until later at the Wannsee Conference that the true 'Final Solution' was laid out to leaders of the government and industry. It was the 'Ok, keeping some of them alive for work is annoying." aka "storing them turned into exterminating them." There was still work camps in germany, but they didn't need the 1/2million prisoners they were keeping for sibera. It was just two birds with one stone, because testing showed moving them while alive to a camp was faster than attempting to 2/?

Further reading (a little bit of a yes+no): Groups within the command structure already had an extermination plan before a single ghetto was created. They had ideas such as mobile gas chamber trucks etc. A plan in place was to keep a revolving door of jews so that after they attacked and won against the Soviet Union they could end most of the killing and send them all to russia/sibera in work camps and massive wartime road building projects. Basically an autoban from Paris to Omsk. 1/?

In MOST cases "One of my objectives is to do what the other guy said is their 1st objective" is not a good platform. The fact you didn't come out promising it first implies its not your actual opinion but you'll say it just to get vote. It makes you either look like a liar, or a copycat. HOWEVER: They totally should have gone against the convention and made it part of their platform to basically state tRump is untrustworthy and you need to vote Democrat to get the REAL files.

"no more tears" logic. She assumed because tRump was running on releasing the files that every other candidate was running on covering them up. Single issue voters are so powerful because they get target locked on their one single goal in life. I understand WHY she had that goal, but I could not understand people who refuse to think about the context and consequences of their actions.

TO BE FAIRRRRR. A sanction is a status of limitation. So an action being sanctioned as acceptable to use means "You are limited to this action." While sanctioned as un-acceptable means "You have been limited from using this option." Therefor "limited" also has two opposite meaning but we use "limited from" and "limited to" in order to separate the meanings while we use more complex context clues for "sanctions."

As long as he actually stays on point and acts and legislates the way he's saying he will... I'm so jaded by now that I accept the grift of adding "praise god" onto every 5th sentence because its so obviously signaling that only idiots get affected by it.

I'd rather have someone who speaks nasty but does nice compared to someone who speaks nice but acts nasty. I lived in the south, and some people would use sweet talk voices while being the most horrible people possible. Praising God's love while beating their children kind of thing.

It's only a crime if it's conspiracy, aka sharing your plan in an attempt to urge someone else to participate OR if it's an attempt, aka taking probable measurable steps to carry out the plan. You may have a legal standing on saying you have a plan to bomb the president as long as you refuse to allow others to help you, and you dont spend $3.2m on a missile.

Hopefully the billions of dollars of pre-orders hasn't been spent yet, or at least they only spent the cancelation fee. A lot of their company revenue and evaluation is in unfulfilled contracts. If even 25% of their buyers go bust and are unable to pay, then what? Of the $100m a data center costs only $1m is physical building, so the $99m of pre ordered cooling systems, computer hardware, and contractual obligations is unrecoverable.

after the 'pure learning' of highschool. If we can't get universal income, at least universal college would be amazing. Give people 2 to 4 years to get a job, move out, get schooling started, and then have a bit of money saved up. I learned a lot about being a good person from college level humanities, mostly how to put feelings into words. 2/2

Every job that used to be an apprenticeship where they taught you from the ground up now has a degree attached to it. College used to be priced competitively because fewer people needed it. NOW you can't get a job changing oil without a degree, and the college has to fit an entire mechanics shop and 500 other degrees into a building built for ~15 degrees in things like "physics" and "biology." I'm just torn because I believe I think society would be better with 1 or 2 years of humanities 1/?

It's part of why I liked scrubs even though I am a very "secondhand embarrassed" person. MOST awkward situations, if not all, ended with another person caring about them rather than dwelling on the awkwardness.

To be honest i've always seen the trolley problem as one of those questions with a generally accepted logical solution, but its how you feel emotionally that matters. Like, most people will think emotionally first and then logically afterwards but some people skip the emotions and go directly to logic. For example: Even people who logically state pulling the lever is the best option would freeze up emotionally and not be able to pull it no matter what they truly believed.
