We had to cancel our family trip to pride in the park due to open threats of violence, they had to add fences this year to avoid whatever might happen. This is a regression from previous years and it is worse than any time I have supported the community.I am just sad that the bad guys seem to be winning, I'm sorry if I came across as anything other than supporting the community
What I meant was that the simple act of being yourself, being "Out", is less accepted now than it has been for years, maybe decades (I'm a 70's kid). As someone that travels all over north America for work, the general acceptance of the gay community, especially the trans community is crashing and the animosity (with potentially violent consequences) is rising. People are having to hide their allegiances and the bigots are becoming more enabled and more willing to act on their petty opinions>

..not that this was "literature" ... but I like it ... And the Amazon series is ... The worst possible representation of those books I could have ever expected.
...after 20 years of reading that series, constantly waiting for the next book to be released, then the Author dying and waiting longer for the completion of the tale, to see the travesty that has become likely the only funded live action version of the story to come to life has killed any expectations I will ever have again regarding my choices in literature.

Maybe if enough of us stick together, we can make the changes you've fought so hard for be as solid and permanent as the rights and freedoms that the rest of us take for granted.
