Old boss sounds awesome. I used to be a call center team lead, would get the Karens asking for a manager. After listening to a few of my calls, boss got me a big pin that had just the word "Pity" in a circle with a line through it. I felt so seen lol.

Years ago I had Pedro, a 120lb black lab/shepherd mix. He would just lay his head on the edge of my bed, and wag his tail. Said wagging would in turn shake his entire body, which in turn shook my entire bed. It was like waking up to an earthquake lol. Goodest boy
Congrats on both the sobriety and goal reaching! Our diet-culture society focuses so much on people who want to lose weight, that those in your situation get lost in the noise. It's not my struggle, but it is yours. And it's just as hard and frustrating. All struggles that are overcome are worth celebrating.
