Well yeah. You can trade the items across games meaning they gave you access to the other content without having to pay for it.
I honestly don't know genres of music well enough to answer that. I just listen to whatever I find appealing.

technically in the later gens with mega evolution. Certain pokemon have different mega evolutions depending on whether you are red or blue.
