While watching E3 don’t forget your reminder box.

It’s a new year but just in case.

NMS has changed a lot kinda quietly in the background. Apparently there’s a big free update soon too. I got a decent hundred or so hours.

Or, you know, let people make up their own minds and purchase what they want.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I have over 150 hours in the game.....

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

No Man's Sky kinda redeemed itself by now, they added a LOT since release

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 2

I'm hoping Fallout 76 doesn't disappoint me. I want it to allow for private servers.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I am one of the few who actually enjoyed it. I knew what it was. It delivered the zen garden of exploration I expected.

Hahahah this was amazing. This “thing” reminds me not to buy before at least patch 1 comes out and people are done complaining about stuff

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

This dudes girlfriend is an elf

7 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 0

Don't worry EA's conference was terrible anyway.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

It was 80 percent sports games. Which I get is a huge community in gaming, but shows they're not focusing on trying to be more creative.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wish my girl gamed. And I'm not talking about The Sims. That doesn't fucking count.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Show her some Telltale games. That was my gateway to playing more PC games and moving on to others.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If you ever watched an e3 in the past decade you'll come to realize it's all lies. Only proof is actual gameplay on the floor.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

new year, new games, new hype... but remember: it's still the same people selling it.

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Im just gonna preorder every game that gets announced just to be safe

7 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

So, anyone wanna talk about EA 2018 conference or should we just forget it?

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I think most people were underwhelmed. I liked the Indies, Anthem could be good, other than that it just felt like they had few reveals.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I actually quite liked NMS. It was like game meditation. Wander around not doing anything but exploring. But then I did get it in a sale.

7 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 4

Did you know you can do that in games with actual content as well?

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 3

Oh for sure. I'd have been pissed if I'd paid £60 for it

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

They enjoyed their time with it so that doesn't matter.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Matter of fact, I'll give you that. I just wish the worthy developers got their dollar for making good games.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Those developers though.

7 years ago | Likes 12 Dislikes 0

Crying all the way to the bank

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I like No Man's Sky. You guys are silly.

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Shhhh. Don't show a positive opinion on imgur. You'll get crucified. I did just for admitting I preordered dark souls remastered.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 3

Had to pre order dark souls remaster. Need to be ready to invade newcomers.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

That's exactly why I got it. The forest invasions on noobs were fun

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

As a non-gamer, this post took quite a lot of time & effort to understand with no context.

7 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 2

What’s a non-gamer? Like an old person? On imgur? Sometimes I get lost when the Europeans try to upvote things in the nighttime.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Someone who doesn't own any kind of console & who doesn't use his PC for playing games either. And btw, I'm very far from retirement age.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

All them lies they were saying about Anthem

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

My faith in Anthem has plummeted.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

When I saw the game last year, I though it was a great concept, but I knew it wasn’t gonna be as good as it seemed.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I was excited d about the concept but realized the execution is going to be garbage.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What did you were you hoping for that it didnt turn out to be? Just curious because it turned out exactly how I had expected.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

As always, it'll succeed or fail by its endgame content. People plowed through all the Division/Destiny 2/Wildlands content in mere weeks.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

All of those were fun, great looking games at launch, but once you finished the campaign, there was so little to do except repeat it all.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I bought Wildlands at launch and i still play it. Took me a few months to beat and 100%, kept playing, they added PvP/DLC.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Same with D2 & The Division, the problem is the initial wave always lacks content and people abandon it because more games keep coming out.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Wildlands didn’t lack content though. The base game is very lengthy. The map is massive, there are tons of mission, and it has over 50 guns.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Burn the land and boil the sea; you can't take the sky from me.

7 years ago | Likes 26 Dislikes 0

Damnit, it's too early/late for feels! I can't handle Firefly withdrawal symptoms right now.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I use my Spore Collectors Edition as a reminder box.

7 years ago | Likes 31 Dislikes 2

SO MUCH NOSTALGIA

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

Albion Online beta/preorder - game was a total letdown and full of instanced crap when it was supposed to be a "sandbox"

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Spore was such an awesome game, that could have been a bestseller had EA not meddled so much.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Too soon..

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Dark spore!

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

That's a heavy box too

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

The thick plastic one with Spore critters cut out of it? It's a damn nice package; just too bad the game wasn't what I hyped it to be.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yah I oayed too much for that thing. Still have it in a box somewhere

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I played the hell out of Spore years ago, I don't get the hate for it. I was also an early teen when I played it though..

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

It lost features as it went through development https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=T8dvMDFOFnA

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Same. I really enjoyed it for what it was at the time, and was surprised when I found out it has such a bad reputation.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

EA was pretty dam disappointing. Just devs talking about the game without gameplay.

7 years ago | Likes 38 Dislikes 2

that is all EAs conferences ever are. and they talk like only their investors are listening, so it is all shit buzzword jargon with no real

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

passion or conviction behind any of it. how many times did they say "socially connected" or "unprecedented" this year?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well there's your first mistake: having expectations for EA. Their sense of accomplishment is one I can do without.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

S.O.S. looks pretty awesome. Got some real Shadow of the Colossus-vibes, and interesting world setting. Anthem? Meh. Gimme more.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 3

Eh S.O.S, no gameplay no hype dems the rules. They talked about anthem for 20 minutes before showing an edited 3 minute clip.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

I know i shouldn't be(yet), but i am so hyped for Anthem. After being let down by destiny 2, and not able to get into war-frame, i want it.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I just hope it's good so dragon age 4 gets a chance to exist

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

the problem i had was how edited down that gameplay video was. No chance to actually see what was happening

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Yea, they left me with more questions than answers, but i do love the lancer designs, and the prospect of boss fights, they kinda have me.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was sad with them screwing mass effect

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

Mass effect was one of my favorite series. Sad to see it get shit on...

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I hope the franchise doesn't end up like C&C. Become a shitty mobile game that nobody wants to play. The existence of this game is a insult

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

for every fan of the franchise. Instead of fixing Generals 2 they give us this crap.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I have a more in-depth strategy. I've been playing Mass Effect: Andromeda through again to remind me of every way EA continues to hurt me.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

You hate it even with all the changes they’ve made since launch? That seems overly critical. It’s no ME 1 or 2, but it’s a decent game.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I appreciate you not mentioning 3. Although I stand by my opinion that 3's actual gameplay was a step up. Shame about the "plot" though...

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

3 was good up until the end imo

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It was good, yes, but it was very obviously unfinished. It's why some Priority worlds were so much bigger and more in-depth than others >>

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

>> Rannoch and Tuchunka were huge, multiple-mission affairs, whereas players are on Thessia and Sur'Kesh for all of 20 minutes.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I didn't hear about no man's sky till after the scandal. I saw a friend play it, I bought it, and fucking love it. Fight me.

7 years ago | Likes 18 Dislikes 4

Most people who like it like it BECAUSE they heard about it after the fact. People hate it for what they were told it would be but wasn't.

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 3

i will fucking fight you for supporting such blatant anti-consumer tactics. You should feel ashamed there are plenty of good survival space

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

games that deserve your money. But no you choose not only a shit game but a game that actively harms the industry.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

It's good for what it is. Problem was it was advertised as something different, and people paid for it early expecting a different game

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

You have shit taste.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

I think the problem with NMS was the amount of hype and the expectations people had about the game. Since then plenty has changed and the >

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

game has some loyal fans. Unfortunately many became so upset with what the game was around it's release that the game still carries >

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

a stigma. I bought it back then, I was also upset, and I don't play it anymore but I'm not upset with the developers anymore since they >

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

actually decided to do something about the game. I've since understood that it was more my mistake to expect the things I expected from NMS>

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

and that those things were not likely to come true at all. My point is. Being angry for this long for the sake of being angry is stupid.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

No Man's Sky is a becoming a good game though.

7 years ago | Likes 24 Dislikes 6

It's been a good game for two years now.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 5

Yeah! It's just had a pretty rough start imo.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

It's a game I defend to the grave. I had plenty of enjoyment. It was judged too harshly. Then again, I'm very content with a lot of games.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

It's becoming better. 2 years later.

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 2

It's better than nothing I feel, I've made this (probably awful) comparison before and compared how the community received Ubisoft's

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

For Honor and Rainbow Six Siege, games that admittedly failed at launch, especially For Honor and is now beginning to make a come back..

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

For Honor's failure to launch followed by numerous bugs and technical issues seem more acceptable from a Triple A Studio than an indie one.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

But they're still charging $60 for it. And that's the problem. With how it is now. If they drop it down to $20, it would be a good game.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

IE.. it's just not deserving of the triple-A price tag. Even after all they did to it.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Oh really? I had assumed they just gave up on it. I knew it just needed time, but they shouldn’t have released it so incomplete.

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 2

They will never give up on it. They made the game for them, not us.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah! It's supposedly getting it's biggest update since release which is adding complete up to 4 player Co-op

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

You're correct. But they were in a tight spot. They had already delayed it, it was going to take ages for them to finish it, I mean the >

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

game is still not complete, obviously it needed a massive amount of work around it, and the hype train was unrealistically strong.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I made another comment similar to yours.100% agree. I don’t blame the developers, I blame the money hungry pricks that pushed it incomplete.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah! It's supposedly getting it's biggest update since release which is adding complete up to 4 player Co-op

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 1

Nice. It looked soooo fun watching people play. I’m just afraid it’s like sea of thieves. A mile wide and an inch deep sort of thing.

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Depends on what you like. I spent about 70 hours flying around and exploring, but once you're bored of that, there wasn't much else to do.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

They actually did add an entire campaign to it, that takes a couple dozen hours to complete. It’s a nice addition to everything.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Yeah now you can build a base, staff it with aliens, and even do missions.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Updates have made it better, though.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They’ve been doing a lot with it lately, worth checking out if you still have it, a lot of updates with a bunch of content, still meh thou

7 years ago | Likes 383 Dislikes 11

Polish a slab of mud til you can see your relfection, the slab is still made of mud. No amount of polish can fix no man's sky.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Is "meh" really worth checking out?

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Still not worth the $60 pricetag on Steam, their reluctance to lower it two years after release is speaking volumes about them.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Not while its still listed at a 59.99. Sure I could buy used but the fact it hasn't dropped over a year later will all its problems... nope

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 2

I bought it for $6 Canadian, while still not great I put a good 30 hours in and enjoyed the hell out of it

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Recently bought a pre-owned copy of the PS4 version on a whim, so far I've really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the multiplayer update.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

Tried it at the start of the year, couldn't off the first planet due to not have enough resources to make any progress to get more resources

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

I really like it still, and they have proper multi player coming soon, but it shouldn't have been the price at launch for what it was then.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

Too little too late for that scam. Very glad i didn't buy into the hype

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

It's still a $20 early access game they tried to market as a fully developed AAA title. I think that's what really killed it.

7 years ago | Likes 59 Dislikes 5

I bought the prerelease, but didn't follow most of the press about it. Was a bit disappointed - but it's my understanding that they received

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

a ton of death threats when they announced delays. The reporters who reported on the delays did as well. So they released an unfinished game

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That's really more Sony's fault than Hello Games. Sony offered funding, but the project was too ambitious to meet their marketing deadlines.

7 years ago | Likes 15 Dislikes 0

It was only £12 on Green Man Gaming a while back, not sure if it still is though

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

it tried to sell of the back of terrarias success, despite being an inferior version of an existing game. just like all the MCclones

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Problem is, the bunch of content still isn't what they promised back then.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 3

If you think that, than you, like many, didnt understand what the game was in the first place.

I was so so so close to preordering that game....thank god

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Is it really that bad? It looked promising. Like just for a relaxing time and not a mad rush to the end?

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 0

I do because its such a good game now. Not $60 still but still good.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

I am super excited for the NEXT update.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Sea of Thieves devs clearly still do and look what happens to that game.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You can't take the (no man's)sky from me.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

that's the PROBLEM

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What game?

7 years ago | Likes 8 Dislikes 1

It's turned around considerably, but the main theme is still there. Travel to the center of the universe, get flung back and start over.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Shit, and here I am in my old age thinking the only reminder I need is that I bought Aliens Colonial Marines and that was the worst.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I'm with you. Graphics were wonderful but everything beyond that was awful. They had totally asymmetrical levels of effort when creating it.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

I found parts of that game that game that looked as bad as an n64 game. They used pretty much fake footage all the way up to release.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I do. I love it. I have that same box from the same preorder. People expected way too much for an exploration crafting sandbox

7 years ago | Likes 11 Dislikes 2

most people just expected what the company promised. They did not deliver on that promise.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

I thought they were promising too much and expecting delivery was expecting too much lol

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

People would have expected less if it was actually described as an exploration and crafting survival game - that part was carefully hidden.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You could see from almost day 1 that's what it was. As soon as gameplay was shown where he was gathering resources with a laser gun.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Sure you can pick out bits like that which are obvious looking back, but at the time they were happy to let people run with this false image

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I think most people expected the resource collection parts to be a minor role of a bigger experience, not the main in-game activity.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Which game?

7 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

what part of "we don't talk about it" didn't you get?

7 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 10

Man you're dumb

7 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 6

Exactly.

7 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

Thing is, they've finally turned the game around and it's actually really good now.

7 years ago | Likes 393 Dislikes 28

shut yo punk ass up, fool

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 5

This is a blatant lie. It's passable now, hardly qualified as good or really good. Buyer's remorse is still strong in this one.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

7 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

I could probably do the same if i could lie my way to a billion dollars first.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Lol no it's not. It's still a shit game. Maybe would be good at 15 bucks.

7 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

I see you No Man's Sky dev...

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

First response: guy who has actually played NMS. Second response: guy who hasn't played since release BUT CAN'T FUCKING READ.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Its still glitchy as fuck. At least on PS4

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Agreed. Gf and I started playing it again a month ago, it's decent now. Not worth $60, maybe $30 or so, but it is fun now at least.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yeah, how many years after initial release?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

It's too late.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I wish they added quests and focused more on combat. Like look into the robots that appear on every planet b4 you do

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What better about it now? I haven’t touched it since I bought it when it came out

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

What I was missing the most, was a better overview over what you discovered, I wanted to play Xenologist... Otherwise I got what I expected.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

“really good game” oh my sweet summer child, no. Is it better than it was? Yes. Still around 40% of what I expected intially.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Too little too late.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

Has no concept of gravitational physics. Hard pass.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

It got me playing for like another 10 hours before it got boring again.

7 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

Same

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

What did they change?

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Added basebuilding, excellent story, really fun vehicles, multiple ships, better economy, and limited multiplayer(full MP coming next patch)

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

As it was in the beginning, this was never going to be a game that appealed to everyone - people thinking multiplayer fixes it all are (1/2)

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

ignoring the fact that it's still an entire universe, so unless it's direct co-op the chances of random encounters are low. This game (2/3)

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

was never made for the CoD, God of War gamer - it was meant for the "recreate the Louvre in survival minecraft" gamer: long boring gaps.

7 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

It's a decent game now, but still not worth $60 imo.

7 years ago | Likes 153 Dislikes 6

I got it on sale. And I'm told another free update is pending.

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Got it for 10 at game stop. Score!

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I got it for like $15 during a steam sale. Haven't played much of it yet.

7 years ago | Likes 22 Dislikes 0

i saw the ps4 version for like $15?

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Eeeh.. not really. They added a bunch of superfluous detail to give the illusion of "content" with restrictive basebuilding. /1

7 years ago | Likes 25 Dislikes 1

You literally only have to change a "false" to a "true" in a simple config file to make it totally unrestricted.

7 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 3

The fact you have to do that is telling enough, isn't it? That also completely ignores the console ports.

7 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Yeah I see what you mean but like if you find it too restrictive you can just turn off all the limitations

7 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 2

Honestly i dont even care if there’s exploits like that. If im feeling lazy, great. If i feel like the full experience, i ignore it.

Multiplayer was limited in the last patch (it existed but no character models). The next patch will include multiplayer if my news is right.
