How do I stop some mean mother hubbard from tearing me a structurally superfluous new behind? Use a gun. If that don't work, use more gun.

#1 "I want a revolver that fires 3 round bursts." "That's not how they wor-" "FIGURE IT OUT!" "...Okay".

8 years ago | Likes 10 Dislikes 0

The recoil on that thing must be fucking crazy.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Modern guns have created an unhealthy beauty standard, real guns have barrels.

This reminds me of the hundreds of siege engines tried out before the cannon was developed.

#1 Bombshell/Ion Maiden?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Pistola Con Caricato. Closer to a .38 special in size and fires a much smaller caliber. Bombshell's is probably based on it though.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Fuck you and everybody in your close vicinity.

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Any chance you can direct me to more stuff like this? I'm starting to get into antique weapons

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

I hope you've watched Forgotten Weapons?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

These look like something straight out of Percy De Rolo's workshop.

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

Hopefully not demon possessed this time.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I was going to say Borderlands 2.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

It's always nice to see other critters

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Well the Pepperbox, certainly.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Nah....I can see Percy going "see Grog? more barrels means more ouchies to whoever I point at."

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

No, I mean he literally used a Pepperbox as his handgun, until Scanlan tossed it into a pit of acid

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Scanlan tossing it into the acid was one of the many CMOA for Sam.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I know he did, but I can see him inventing more weird guns ... kinda.... maybe not at the end of the series but y'know

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#1 is the same gun Shelly from Ion Maiden uses. Pretty cool it actually exists.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Puckle guns were also a thing for 60 years when the COTUS was written.

The writers of the Constitution we’re not stupid they seen the advancements in technology coming this post illustrates that

8 years ago | Likes 13 Dislikes 9

How?

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

Semiautomatic air rifles existed before the Constitution was written. Lewis and Clark had these rifles on their expedition.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

It doesnt matter honestly. First let me say that i'm not american, and second of all, they could have been wrong.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Which one of these shoot "full semi-automatic" like the one on CNN?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

“The founding fathers couldn’t have foreseen the invention of an automatic weapon!”

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

#3 is a "Pepperbox", and #4 is a "Volley Gun"

8 years ago | Likes 104 Dislikes 4

I've seen #4 live, it's in a castle near me. It's a fucking monster and is pointed straight to a knight's armor. (Schloss Glücksburg)

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I feel like a volley gun should fire whole bullets like some tf2 shit

8 years ago | Likes 9 Dislikes 1

@op edit these in pls

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

So all nine barrels fire simultaneously? It's like a MacGyver shotgun

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

I am reasonably sure it's a flintlock-esque type gun. Load all 9 barrels, load the powder, let 'er rip. RIP your shoulder though.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That makes me wonder how it's engineered. I can't help thinking a Flintlock would dump powder and would be hard to have all 9 fire at once.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

Pretty much all firearm developments have revolved around the concept that MOAR DAKKA = MOAR KILLY

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I wasn't sure if this was intended as one big bang or nine sequential shots

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

How do I post pictures from mobile??

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 2

You can go to the picture, hit the "Share" button & imgur will pop up. Tap on imgur to upload it, then just follow the steps.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Go home then tap the camera button

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

But my house doesn't have a camera button.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

#4 would dislocate a fuckin shoulder.

8 years ago | Likes 34 Dislikes 0

It looks incredibly heavy, so maybe that would help a little with recoil

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 2

U meant “relocate”, like to the next state over

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

"You should see the other guy..."

8 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 0

They wouldn't. They do.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 1

Hence why they weren't very popular, save for being mounted on ships to spray enemy decks. Very difficult to handle, and a long time to load

8 years ago | Likes 16 Dislikes 0

Weren't small swivel canons loaded with grape shot more popular on ships?

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

I love grape shots. Basically a shotgun shell for cannons. Used to shred everything it hit. People, sails, occasionally ships.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

you tell that to that one dude from Sharpe! I forget his name.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Sergeant Major Patrick Harper. Sharpe himself said he gave Harper the Volley Gun because he was the only one who could handle it.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Uh... bolt action and semi-auto WERE creative. But this is neat!

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 2

And machineguns were too creative for old military mustache men.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Where is the picture of the Puckle Gun created in 1718?

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 1

Oddly enough, the puckle wasn't the only firearm to fire odd shaped rounds. (But you knew this my man

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

center left takes "killing them with love" a little too literally

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

It was horribly compressed by imgur but here's yer square bullet firing Puckle.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

Square bullets

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

Square bullets & uniquely shaped bullets weren't all that uncommon in the early development of the rifle.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Awesome! It’s almost as if the evolution of firearms was foreseen by the framers.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

There's a gun museum in Tulsa OK. It's def worth the visit if you get a chance. I haven't been since I was 8 & a lot can change in 20 years.

8 years ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 1

J. M. Davis Arms and Historical Museum in Claremore, OK. Well worth the trip, can spend all day there!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

That would be the one. I grew up in Claremore & used Tulsa because 99% of the world's population has heard of Tulsa but not Claremore

That’s M855. Us civvies use it in Modern Sporting RIFLES. MSRs play in so many comp. disciplines that “sporting” is literally in the name.

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 1

It’s not pistol ammo. It’s rifle ammo that competitive shooters often use as training ammo. Source: I shoot National Match and 3 Gun.

#2 and#8 have the best names being a Harmonica pistol and Duck Foot pistol respectively.

Because, fuck your foot.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

#4 is a volley gun, I do believe. Meant to fire all 9 at once. As you can imagine, the practice never really got all that popular

#3 & #5 are also called "Peppermill" / "Pepperbox" depending on your preferred. Not only did they have fun designing them but also naming

8 years ago | Likes 19 Dislikes 0

super inacurate mark twain actually talks about one of his friends double loading all cylinders to have the muzzle flash ignite all barrels

8 years ago | Likes 6 Dislikes 0

to kill a charging buffalo

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

I have a pepperbox kit, 4shot. Fun to put together but ya... not really worth a damn but not expecting much from a Black powder pistol.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Some of those volley guns took some balls to fire. The kick would dislocate your arm

8 years ago | Likes 28 Dislikes 2

Just for clarification this dude isn't exaggerating. That would literally happen to people using those guns

8 years ago | Likes 17 Dislikes 1

That literally happens to people using currently produce guns as well

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

#8 looks like you would be happy to still have you arm

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

black powder is no smokeless powder in case of burn speed, so the shock would build up slower, and a 4bore or 2bore surely had more punch.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

A lot of them were "accidentally" lost overboard by marines who didn't want to dislocate their shoulders, which contributes to their rarity

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

950* JDJ, my mistake D: https/i.imgur.com/7oHui4A.jpg

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Jesus can we make a volley gun out of that? Just tear the damn mount right off the ship?

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

You should see the YouTube vid of this gun. It has 0 use & was issued a special permit to exist. It weighs 50 ish lbs and each round is $40

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

One shot & these guys are done, if fired in a volley you could change direction of the ship. I would love to fire a round, just 1 though.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeep but just like punt guns most were mounted or resting on something & not exactly shoulder fired. The 959 JDJ is the modern equivalent.

8 years ago | Likes 7 Dislikes 0

The JDJ is a joke gun for fun, punt guns where uses for business purposes. And the 9 barrel guns where around a 2bore to a 4bore recoilwise

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 1

so dislocating stories where mostly sailor storries. Plus they are rare because only the guy in the birdsnest had them to shot down on the

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

deck of the enemy and this was so rare and impractical the navy stopped buying them only a few years after adoption.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

If I were a wealthy (and large) early 1900's British explorer. The 950 JDJ would be my Bush rifle. TAKE THAT ELEPHANT

8 years ago | Likes 4 Dislikes 0

And that elephant, & that one, & that one, & that one 8 miles away. The energy this round carries would turn the elephant into bacon bits.

8 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

*Elephant bits. the African bacon

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

So you would take an inferior rifle then they really took in the time? A 2bore gun has a over 30% bigger caliber and even a 4bore is bigger.

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

My Mistake the JDJ is roughly 3600 grain bullet and the the 4 bore is about 2000 rounded lead or steel.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

the 2 bore only being about 3500 gr. and not using conventional modern smokeless powder. Diameter isnt everything

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Hm, just looked it up, quite impressive, the Schroeder & Hetzendorfer Cartridge had only slightly under half the energy with blackpowder.

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

You said you would take the gun, not smokeless powder too!

8 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

Yeah but a 2 bore is a large lead wad. The JDJ is a jacketed pointed projectile, roughly the same grain weight and the case is shouldered

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

also a 2 bore is bigger than a 4

8 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0
