Don’t know what I was expecting in the comments, but the vitriol is just ineffective. You and I, reader, have more in common with this man than we are different. People will inherently have differences of opinion on moral issues. We should be seeing this for what it’s worth.

Bottling it up is not a solution. Feelings are not some liquid that is held in a container. Feelings are ephemeral and come and go seemingly randomly. See how a cry becomes a laugh or vic versa, from the smallest memory or happenstance. Seems like some are attached to their feelings and some make an identity out of their feelings. If we had more awareness we would see they flow through us, that they are not things we could hold on to, but not for our lack of trying.

Not healthy behavior from the cashier, and shouldn’t be lionized. Most people will be mistreated often. It’s up to you to develop resilience and techniques to ground yourself. She could step away, called for help, and at the minimum voiced her inner feelings to diffuse the tension. Kind of concerned with some of the comments here that are normalizing or justifying this type of reaction from the cashier.

#2 this is analogous to the reason children like to watch the same movie or show repeatedly. In a world fraught with new experience there is comfort in the things we know

Lucky you. I went to the gym twice today as well after a couple weeks hiatus and my body thinks we are in a prolonged persistence hunt for food. 0 sleep on the radar.

I got a buddy that has a bitcoin wallet but ironically is homeless. Lives in his car, 0 gas as it’s getting cold. He’s been applying to jobs but has some psychiatric issues. Being a mentally ill man with 0 support system is a tough draw. He hates to ask but I’ve been ordering him food to-go the last couple days. He also has grown despondent from being in the shit so long. If you’d like to help keep a human being alive for a few days, I would personally appreciate the help for him.

Every time someone repost this in a middle of a dump, the top comment is something about modern laundry detergents. I don’t want to get all Reddit but it’s cyclical. I kinda hope only like one person reads this and then finds a repost in the past to scroll down to comments and be like damn, tread was right

Could at least. Probably a more concrete theory is that there is a thin line between things that repulse us and excite us

Don’t want to get too Freudian, but I imagine a father playing with his child’s feet often develops into something like this down the line

This is a distraction from the shit that matters. Railroad workers don’t get a single paid sick day. Subhuman.

Wtf. The irony. The projection. The want to believe in a conspiracy when the truth is foul and stinking underneath the nose.
