C-w, M-w and C-y correspond to the traditional Ctrl+x, Ctrl+c and Ctrl+v, from the CUA spec.
This is why I map capslock to both escape and control.
C-w is kill-region; M-w is kill-ring-save; C-y is yank, and those map onto the "normal" C-[XCV]. Also see 'use CUA keys' under Options.
Anyone who thinks this is bitter has no taste and isn't preparing it correctly. In other news, I like red wine and dark chocolate.
