VT Hiking, climbing, lifting, engineer, nerd, outgoing. Get at me.
It's alder wood. Cedar is really only used in North America. For a sauna you want to to a soft clear wood since the soft wood doesn't hold as much heat so you can sit on it without burning your butt. Cedar is also 4-5x the cost of other types of wood!
Thanks! When it's not winter I was going to add some features like that. That looks just like what one of the videos I followed (and had no idea what was being said) did!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lNFja_terKE&t=8sFoot rest/railing was definitely going to happen, I am undecided if I will to a back rest on the upper bench.
I just did a bunch of research, used /r sauna, sauna times, and Trumpkin’s Notes. It's basically an insulated shed with a reflective vapor barrier inside. Nothing too complicated!Around 15k, stove and paneling/bench material were 4k and 5k respectively, so some money could have definitely been saved there had I chosen cheaper options.
Adjustable vents for airflow!
Alder!
That's on the list for future improvements when it's not winter here! A cold plunge tank and front porch will be added as well!

It's the only thing that gets worn in the sauna;)
I'll assume that's a compliment! ☺️
Saunas are made for friends!
Yes it is! I tried to make it as Finnish as an American possibly can!
64 during the day, 55 at night. It's cold up north.
Complete right! Plus lots of butter and a little heavy cream since... Delicious...
Reverse sear is the way to go! I finish stove top in a cast iron. More control! Oh and a thermometer is key to a good steak!
Sounds like the gym just wasn't the right fit. Some have a great learning culture, some push you to hard. Always work at your own pace!
Thanks @Charlies3 !
Just read a book or watch a show with headphones on! They don't expect you to interact, although some artists prefer it.
Make sure you get paintable calk! I've never accidentally used the non paintable stuff....
Super cool! Someday I'll be decisive and actually get one!
Tht is great and all, but I want a better look at that dope tattoo!
That's like 4 tasty burritos. Do it and spoil yourself with that money as encouragement. ?
It's the fleshy fun bridge!
Every upvote was a rep point, so that was cool, easy points!
Glad you like 'em! They were fun to make, and I'm glad you know about the dabs! Happy holidays!
They lost that video.
Haha it kinda does!
I was hoping it was cake.
Nope. Just a figure 8 follow through. You have to clip on to one made with a bight.
