(...just as a caveat, sometimes that excitement is from a crazy person, but I digress.)

2. pretty nice job all things considered. Little hectic during the summer but generally it's chill with random bursts of excitement.

1. Understandably everyone's focused on US health, but I want to wish you luck on the job hunt! I work hotel front desk myself and it's a

Shame even. Now I'm doubly ashamed in a post about shame.

Wow @imgur, thanks for revealing me as an iPhone owner. I'll never be able to live down the same.

I'm upvoting this whole thread because of you

I keep looking but I can't find Jesus here. :(

At least she helped him do a beautiful job on his nails.

I agree that just focusing solely on women isn't enough to overcome sexism entirely, but I don't think that's equal to misandry either.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

This is probably where the 140 character limit is not helpful, but you are arguing that empowering women is equal to misandry. (1/2)

The fact that I agreed with your point but NOT in the way you wanted me too is what I'm commenting on, not that it's against feminism.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

That applies in the reverse as well you realized. I acknowledged a major flaw of feminism. You're still painting broadstrokes over them all.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

I won't say the feminist movement is without flaws, but right now you just sound like you have a rage boner against all feminists.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

just trying to get more women into men's fields isn't enough either. We need to encourage it both ways. (2/2)

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

They know that. Most feminists try to just vouch for equality for women under the assumption that it'll be enough but (1/2)

Differing standards of gender is a double-edged sword. Everyone gets hurt, not just women.

Not sending you anything, but I want to thank you for offering this anyway. You're a swell dude.

The fact that she wrote that article and felt the need to end it on a "think of it as healthy being in!" note shows the problem exactly.

I have never felt this dirty looking at bacon before.

Though that comes with the caveat of whether or not we think working for a living should mean people can be financially independent...

12 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

While there are ways to cut living costs and survive (family/roommates help!), you still need a degree for *independence*. 2/2

It's not impossible, but it's much harder. Even if the job is above $7/hr, you can't afford an apartment on less than $18 in any state. 1/2

+1 Overall we devalue all other post-HS options and thus college becomes the *only* option with value, and the price tag shows that.

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Colleges need rules but those rules need to make them more cost-effective and the students still shouldn't be penalized. (5)

over the cost of tuition for those in that major. (Which is the reason English majors still pay the same tuition, to cover that cost.) (4/5)

I do know that for some degree that require special equipment (usually science fields), the cost of adequate equipment can go well (3/?)

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

There's still the issue where college deans make far more than they should while untenured professors go w/o health care of course but (2/?)

12 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Some of the issue is that colleges are just very *inefficient* about costs, as each student increases the cost needed in overheard. (1/?)

My mother is a nurse who goes out of her way to take on patients like these, so she can make sure their final weeks are comfortable.

Science you have officially gone too far. Stop it now.
