I wish more people would realise that self employed workers aren’t covered by this.
It’s insane that while an employee can get up up 1800 a month, a self employed person can get less than 400 quid.
They get universal credit which is 94 quid a week. It’s a huge disparity.
It’s to stop people being made redundant ie companies can keep employees on the payroll.
Tell that a self employed renter on a zero hours contract. Protection has been geared towards employed homeowners.
The 80% is paid to the employers technically so it doesn’t apply to the self employed.
