I have Sprint. I drove across the entire length of I-10, I-15, I-20, I-70, and most of I-85, and had service everywhere but the Mojave
They have to do that already for many hybrid strains which don't breed true. This has been a part of farming for >70 years.

A .22 Short at 50 yards maybe. But even weak guns are pretty powerful, and foam pillows are not very good at stopping projectiles.
I doubt anything north of an airsoft gun would be stopped by one of those pillows.
This grip is allowed in the case of very small compact pistols, like Glock 26, etc. where there's not enough room for two hands to wrap
