We know he is telling the truth because the post is spelled correctly.

This is your collective response to my post worried that others could be seriously injured mimicking this? I've sat in the hospitals collecting countless statements and photographing injuries of people who underestimated this scenario. This isn't edgelord crap, it is genuine worry based on actual experience. This was not a safe thing to do. That doesn't mean don't put him in his place, it means be safer about it.

If it is training it is bad training. That elbow strike would get her killed if he was remotely serious. Not only did she turn her back to him after the strike, but she also gave up any possible range. She ends the strike having mildly injured him, but not actually incapacitated him in any way, and now at close range with her back to him. This will get you hurt. Do not do this.

The guy launching it at a tank or a gunship helicopter is probably okay with it being expensive as it destroys the multimillion dollar weapon system that is trying to kill him from a standoff distance that keeps him pretty safe. Like there are SO MANY points you can make about the military industrial complex and war and someone chooses to go with this meme.

Why are global hawks 220 million? They were 10 (Ten) million when they started rolling off the production line in the 90's. Even accounting for inflation that is a huge jump. They are unmanned because they are supposed to be flown in contested airspace and be shot down occasionally. That also means being cheap enough that losing one isn't a huge deal. The hell are they doing costing twice as much as an f-35?

2.) You don't know, going in, what is going on. You may have to take that person into custody and/or transport to the hospital. People in wheelchairs can absolutely resist but have the potential to be extra fragile. Multiple officers means you can have each person in charge of a limb during a secure hold which, when done correctly, dramatically reduces the chance of injury. Basically each person can just hug a limb and the person can't do much and you don't hurt them.

(1/2) So I can't say for certain as to their personal reasoning, but I will say that at least four officers here would be best practices despite what one might assume. Two reasons:
1.) You have an exposed driver traveling way slower than traffic, so having additional vehicles to escort them and prevent other vehicles from changing lanes into them is wise. Multiple cruisers makes that MUCH easier. You essentially need to shield them with your vehicles to keep them safe.

At first I was kinda annoyed, but ultimately this is what AP news is. They present information with very limited commentary. Here they are, accurately, reporting that the FBI claims to have not found enough evidence. We, including me at first, assumed that meant they were supporting the findings, but that isn't what the AP is about. They give info. Reader ascribes meaning. (The meaning here of course being that the FBI is complicit in a cover up and those responsible for it need to face trial)

while I can certainly respect the penetration of a bow, a couple of things: 1.) The point of the gun is not so much to shoot it in this context as it is to be SEEN with it. Typically you don't lob tear gas and rubber bullets at the people with rifles strapped to them. 2.) A bow is, even with a skilled shooter, going to be much slower to deploy than a firearm. You aren't winning a firefight with a bow 99 percent of the time. 3.) Bows require significantly more training than rifles.

The police department answers to the mayor. They are not subservient to the federal government. The one benefit of how our law enforcement system is structured is that local cops do not work for the federal government and absolutely can, legally, enforce state and local law against the feds if the feds engage in behaviors that exceed the scope of their jobs. ICE can use federal supremacy to conduct removals, but riot suppression and shooting Americans is not covered.

Unpopular opinion: yeah, this makes sense. If you are training people and they keep getting slaughtered out of the gate, then their morale is going to be low and they aren't going to learn much. You reduce the difficulty, give them a chance to get their bearings and improve, and then increase the difficulty again. That is how training works. Hegseth sucks balls, but this is unlikely to involve him much and it is pretty typical for how training people works.

DO NOT bring bear spray. Bear spray isn't a gel and it absolutely is not cohesive at anything approaching 50'. Bear spray is deployed different from regular spray. You generate a cloud in front of you and the bear charges into the cloud. Firearms are plenty legal and typically will generally deter this mess in the first place.

Uhh...Halloween is a harvest festival with strong ties to celtic tradition. The Irish version is just Samhain. Many northern hemisphere cultures celebrate the harvest around the same time because that is how seasons work and the hemispheres work. Americans do not need to magically know the traditions of every culture on earth. Imagine getting offended because someone across an ocean doesn't know what your culture calls Halloween.
