that's fine if that's genuinely the case. however, there's a big black market for smuggling exotic pets (monkeys, certain parrots, etc.)
by which i mean that meerkat, the slow loris, sugar glider, etc.
not to be that miserable person, but... please don't support the industry for pets that have likely been poached from the wild.
