That's Hitlers birthday, so not really the best day to celebrate anything in germany.

Mostly, yeah. Saxony was hit by some floods as well but not nearly as bad as in the parts that made the news the last few days.

That's what was done before dogs were chipped. Personal ID-Number tattooed inside the ear so the vet for example can look in a database.

"Guten Tag. Ich bin Vertreter für Fliegenfänger und wollte sie fra..." - "Geben sie mir den größten, den sie haben!" -- I'm german, nuf said

You aren't supposed to send your dog into the crate as punishment though. The crate is supposed to be a safe place.

-> of Prussia and tada, Brandenburg is part of Prussia. Every province presents itself and its contributions aka inventions.

As I said: In this context it has nothing to do with Poland. 1st: The weapon is a MG-08, made in Brandenburg. 2nd: The Pickelhaube, sign ->

No it doesn't...not even a tiny bit.

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

In this context it isn't. Even the creator made that clear over at reddit...

It's Brandenburg. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/States_of_the_German_Empire We pretty much still have that same flag even nowadays...

He was drunk, drove into the tunnel and stopped at the station.

It was called "Reichsmark"...the "Deutsche Mark" came much later.

No matter what, it's still "Schildkröte". Totally different compared to "Tortoise" and "Turtle".

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

"Wasserschildkröte","Landschildkröte".

11 years ago | Likes 3 Dislikes 0

Yup. Pretty much. We don't try to confuse non-natives with bullshit like "Turtle/Tortoise".

..."Schildkröte". Done. 1 word. Fuck english.

We don't "claim" it. It's a fact. O_O"

A german would most likely NEVER use "I am 5th gen german". Now look at the typical american person with the whole "I'm irish american" etc

11 years ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 0

You're american. I don't understand why people from the US like to add "german", "irish" and so on. And: "Mutter"/"Mother", "Mom"/"Mama".

That guy isn't german.

11 years ago | Likes 1 Dislikes 0

As a german I'd like to focus on the fact that that guy is american and not german. Thanks.

Not really. "Mother" = "Mutter". Just like you say "mom" we say "Mama" for example.

People seem to forget that germany has nukes as well :S American ones, to be exact...

Or english isn't our first language? A lot of these puns go above our heads because they don't make sense translated...
