You can and do ignore uninteresting media all the time, and that's because nobody is talking about.
The thing is that this is kind of a snowball effect. The reason you can't ignore it is because so many people are talking about it.
I agree with that. The presence of guns can only exacerbate a problem that already exists, it can't cause it.
You can look up stats per person and US will still be miles ahead. Pretending like this isn't an issue is just ridiculous.

To be fair, I've heard that South Africa is extremely dangerous. I would really like to visit but have been warned numerous times against.
