I'm sorry, man. I lost my mom a little less than 5yrs ago to cancer and I miss her so much every day. It does get easier, but it's still sad as fuck and really hurts when there's a positive milestone I wish I could share with her. Your memories and feeling the sadness when it comes is what keeps her alive in your life. She lives within you.

Like this. Right now. Then I try to tell myself that as though I were telling someone else. Sometimes it helps. Not always, but sometimes. :)
