...did we even read the same books? what problematic issue did harry potter "tackle"? if anything the books are fairly glib about every problem of the wizarding society; any condemnation of the norms only exists for 1 paragraph and then its back to the status quo with maybe harry referencing it in his head with no direct opinion on the matter.

Like trans folks represent an incredibly small portion of the population, and then of that small percentage how many of them even do sports? And then consider things like kids that enter puberty way younger and are 3 feet taller and twice as heavy as their peers. Like, the whole trans people in sports thing is just how bigots get their feet in the doors of well meaning but uninformed people
and does it make you feel bad when people you consider friends and/or colleagues use the nationalities of these specific assholes as a cudgel? maybe that's an angle you should think about when people talk about trans kids in sports; reality is nuanced and complicated but categorically banning people based on a factor they cant control is going to isolate and hurt a lot of people to resolve an issue that only exists in the minds of people screaming about it.
