Yep, after taking these shots I actually disassembled the driver and threw out the pieces.No more risk of electrocution.
I agree there are things that a traditional hose clamp does better.This does some unique uses, for example a "clamp" of arbitrary size, or when a very low profile is needed.I've found in the past that tightening a wire around something can be tricky - if just twisting it's easy to end up over-fatigueing and breaking the wire, and it's hard to know how strong it is.
Sure, purchasing is usually easier than making.Unless you need it right now. And the shops are closed.Or there are some concerns like rustproofing or a low profile that won't catch on obstacles.
