I agree with this. But also, I was hit by a car last year while riding my bike, then left on the roadside by the driver. My partner went door to door in the whole neighborhood looking for ring doorbell footage (many of the neighbors have them) and it didn’t help us find anything. So I suspect it wouldn’t even work well to find dogs. As well as the awful dystopian nightmare of Amazon.

Given that there are around 100 daily fatalities from car crashes in the United States, 1500 ‘saved lives’ is pitiful. All of this is laughable, but that especially is a ridiculous win to reference. Wouldn’t relaxing the already pitiful restrictions on emissions cause more death via lessened air quality than 1500 anyway?

An escalator can never break: it can only become stairs. You should never see an ‘Out of order’ sign, just ‘Escalator temporarily stairs: sorry for the convenience’MH
I really enjoyed this whole trilogy, and I agree that it deserves a screen adaptation! Dreamland by Sam Quinones is almost as captivating, but non-fiction and even more gripping imho.
