Born and raised in New Orleans. After Katrina, my family was forced to live in Baton Rouge for a year. Several teachers at the school I went to said we deserved the hurricane because of gay people and “criminals”. They were referring to black Americans. This was in 2005-2006.

I think this is because a few US oligarchs have bought the Washington Post, New York Times, and CNN itself. There are no left leaning media outlets in this country except for maybe NPR.
