give them more credit - they SELL ads not toilets. why would Google be any less/more honest with consumers than business customers?
more important, the outrage is misdirected at devices that have very little to do with current surveilance methods. privacy activism is commendable and necessary, but should start with devices that are by far the biggest hoovers of your data, not a midling convenience device people use to play music and turn on their lights.
