Wow, thankyou for that. I think it’s because she seems “safe”…white, female with a white name. He sounds like he’s an Islamic immigrant, though born in Detroit. He’s a physician,as are my wife and I, so that is appealing.Also, even if he was an immigrant, it wouldn’t matter to us.My paternal grandparents were from Germany, my mother was from Canada.My wife’s parents were from Ukraine and like him,she was born in Detroit. We can look past the superficial aspects and really listen to what he says

So how do the smart people handle this? How can the dimwits be helped to feel more comfortable, more included? How can they be helped to understand at their level? True change would take massive cultural alterations like eliminating religion. But what can be done short term?

My college graduation was almost delayed because I had not taken a particular math class which was a prerequisite for a class in differential equations. When I petitioned the university and showed I had gotten a B+ in the differential equations class without taking the prerequisite, they let me graduate
Not gonna happen. Congress, our military and the judiciary don’t have the courage to do what needs to be done.
