Krishna, technically, but he's an avatar of Vishnu. And the better translation is "I am mighty Time, the source of destruction that comes forth to annihilate the worlds." It's about the inevitability of death, not actively creating it. (And the next line is: "Even without your participation, the warriors arrayed in the opposing army shall cease to exist.") But the popular translation is perfect, because just like these idiots in charge, they completely misunderstand scripture.

I mean, Republicans are stupid but that's a pretty common Twitter joke, to say you reached x million followers instead of thousand. So, this could range anywhere from idiocy to they hired a young social media intern.

It's the middle-aged man who was a big shot in high-school but his life didn't turn out to be as big as he originally thought it would be (but looking from the outside his life isn't actually that bad at all).

Ironically, this might actually cause some gun reform. Same thing happened in the 60s when the Black Panther movement started carrying guns and suddenly racist white people had a problem with it.

Honestly, stop caring what he's going to say or do. You don't need his permission. You're leaving and he's completely irrelevant to your life going forward.

The US is not going to go to war with almost all of Europe and Canada over Greenland. Trump is making his threats specifically because he believes NATO will fold and not do anything if he attacks Greenland. If NATO does call his bluff and actually retaliates, Trump will backtrack ridiculously fast. Even to his base it would be hard sell. The real issue is not war with the US but Russia. The EU is afraid to upset Trump in anyway because they're more afraid of giving Russia an opportunity.

Invading Greenland easily requires violating Canadian airspace and/or sea-space. Canada is also part of NATO. Any move against Greenland will force a confrontation with Canada.

That's doesn't counter what I said. The sycophantic personality directly results in more hallucinations. They could increase the accuracy of the results, but that would require toning down the personality. That makes a technically more functional product, but actually decreases user count because most people want the sycophantic personality. This is the case whether the service is free or paid.

And the path to profitability is actually in the opposite direction of improving usability. It turns out the average user actually likes the sycophantic responses that suck up to them and tell them how great their ideas are. One of the side effects of that "personality", increased hallucinations, because an answer, even a wrong one, is a more pleasing response than telling the user it doesn't have one.

I read an article where many of them are saying the new e-mails are proof Trump was an informant... the mental gymnastics they go through to continue to deny reality...

See, this is the way. Instead of following blatantly illegal orders and suing to stop them, don't follow blatantly illegal orders and force them to sue to make you.

They were "technically" true in that Trump didn't author it himself and he did say he disagreed with it (even if he was obviously lying). And, to be fair, the very next sentence after the highlighted part IS that he has extensive ties to the initiative (even underlining extensive ties) and a link explaining those ties. I don't really see this as CNN lying, it's more a victim of all media trying to portray both sides equally despite the fact that both sides often aren't equally valid.

They're all racist and dumb. Many of them have been legitimately brainwashed to be scared of minorities; i.e. anyone that's different. I, unfortunately, know many who say that Trump's actions - rounding up all the "brown people" - makes them feel safer. They live in a perpetual state of fear thanks to right wing propaganda and this fake, bullshit, state-fed idea of safety is actually making a lot of the right-wing masses happy. And the racism distracts them from the continued economic hardship.

Adams is so full of himself he'd never do this on his own no matter how bad his chances were. Trump or some other corrupt idiot offered him something shiny to drop out to not split the vote with Cuomo and hurt Mamdani.

The fact that she didn't actually look it up but asked AI to explain it to her. Hand in hand with a lack of education in terms of knowing things, is people not learning how to actually research and critically consider sources. In this case, AI seems to actually helped out with real facts, but If she was using GROK there's a good chance it would have conformed to her beliefs.

Because most people on the left have basic empathy.

When you actually care about and can sympathize with other people in general, you're less likely to resort to physically hurting them.

I fear even positive judgement. I'm intensely uncomfortable getting significant attention either way.

If we had a functional media that actually called out the double-standard this would be less effective, but almost all media is owned by the right now.

The ruling was specifically that Trump violated the Posse Comitatus Act, which limits the power of the federal government to use military force for domestic matters.

He has access to the absolute best medical care at no personal cost, that it'll keep his body running save for him suddenly developing a very aggressive form of cancer. But, it doesn't matter, even if he dies, he's shown the Republicans can get away with absolutely anything. They not going to suddenly stop doing stuff after facing no consequences once he's gone. The problem is not his personal cult of personality, but the general cult mindset of the party fostered by conservative news media.

Again, selective moral outrage. Yes, both were supporting genocide, but Trump also came with a side of stripping LGBTQ rights, destroying climate science and vaccine research, deporting minorities, wrecking the economy, etc. Do you only care about children dying in Palestine? Did making your point not care about the ones dying from losing medical care or being ripped from their home in the US? If Palestine was going to be the same either party, why not vote to also lessen suffering elsewhere?

The Dems "allowed" ignoring that several Dems did object and more crucially, the Dems didn't "invite", the Republicans did. Which is the nuance you seem unable to grasp when arguing they're exactly the same. The Dems allow it to happen and don't hold Israel accountable, true, but the Republicans not only do that but they also invite Israel. They encourage it and that attitude emboldens Israel to do more. Again, your selective moral-high ground is ineffective in actually helping people.

So, what kind of alternate reality do you live in that it’s “exactly” the same under Trump? Because it’s certainly not the real world. Trump and the GOPs behavior goes well beyond refusal to criticize and hold accountable to outright encouraging, and if can’t understand how that attitude likely emboldened Netanyahu, then you have a fundamental disconnect. You only interact in some moral high-ground fantasy world and that’s why you’ll always be ineffective in actually helping people.

Did Biden/Harris say that Gazans should be relocated to other nations? Did they say that Gaza would be a great place to build luxury resorts? No that was Trump. Did the Democrats invite Netanyahu to speak in front of Congress prior to the election? No that was the Republicans. Did Biden try to aggressively deport Palestinians and de-fund US universities because of the student protests? Again, that was all initiated by Trump and the GOP.

Saying any situation is "the exact same" with Trump behind it shows you're not a serious person interacting with the real world.

7 months ago | Likes 2 Dislikes 1

Yeah, they were both backing it, but did helping get Trump elected to spite the Democrats make the situation worse or better?

That's completely fine. Spend 10 on a wooden tray off Amazon, it would even look professional.

He declares everything an emergency so he has an excuse to use emergency powers. Brazil prosecuting their former president within their own judicial system and enforcing Brazilian social media laws on companies operating in Brazil "constitute an unusual and extraordinary threat, which has its source in whole or substantial part outside the United States, to the national security, foreign policy, and economy of the United States and hereby declare a national emergency with respect to that threat"

And in the very small chance we ever actually get a real election and president again... it's 10000x harder to start these type of programs than to shut them down.
