And hundreds or thousands of dollars in damage to those cables, which aren't meant for humans to hang from, as we just saw.

Final Fantasy X (10) (FFX) had a sequel called Final Fantasy X-2. That was something of a first for the Final Fantasy series, all the other games had all been their own stories (sometimes with some similarities in the settings like chocobo), but they were more-or-less self-contained with their own casts of characters. FFX-2 featured a few characters from FFX, in a setting that takes place in the same world as FFX.

Yarp. It would be one thing if Xbox exclusives were only ever available on the Xbox. But with Microsoft bringing popular titles to PC, cracking the Xbox hardware is no longer necessary. Still, a very clever hack.

The giant orange baby just said this week that there are Iranian sleeper cells in the USA. And that they "know who they are" and that they "are keeping on eye on them" (not exact quotes, but close).

Meanwhile ICE is arresting construction workers and teacher's aids, who just want to live here, work and build a better life for themselves and their families.

But ICE is *not* arresting actual terrorist sleeper cells (if they actually exist).

I'm a little surprised that the giant orange baby isn't also bombing Lebanon. Not that there is any good reason to do so.

Not crazy expensive. Since you are supposed to replace your helmet every few years, even if it hasn't been in an accident or dropped, that's more than I would want to spend. Having the integrated sun shield is nice, I had that on my last helmet.

Go read the story, *then* tell us how unrealistic you think the story is.

Yes! Me too. Had one of the Dinky Toys cast-metal ones as well, with the odd colors never seen on the show. Mine was green, with some red bits. I should have tried to re-paint it.

(Don't worry, I only watched a short clip on The Daily Show.)

As lame as everything else was about the TPUSA show, I really can't get over the jean shorts. Like... it's a show! Make some effort, don't just grab what was closest on the closet floor that didn't look too stained.

The low effort was so insulting to even the target audience.

See also this Alpha Phoenix video about a "2 billion frames per second" camera: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4TdHrMi6do

It doesn't actually shoot at that speed, but instead the "shutter" opening time is very precisely incremented after a repeating trigger event. The video explains everything.

A few words from the giant orange baby, and Tim Scott will fall back in line, just like nothing ever happened.

We would be lucky if he even knows Liberia is in Africa. Nevermind where in Africa, or what its history is. Or why the capital is Monrovia.

It is a good sentiment. But the racists now feel they can be racists (and nazis!) openly. So we have to keep talking about racism and why it is bad.

Then procedure is to handcuff the perp, and take them away.

You absolutely do not hold them down and spray chemicals in their face at point-blank range. This is "police" abuse (ICE aren't really police), and assault.

I hope the protester has a good lawyer, and can sue the government. Not sure it will go anywhere, but even Trump appointed judges aren't happy with this administration.

I always get nervous when I see lit candles near bedding. It is so easy to start a fire.

I doubt that. It will require many generations of selective breeding before they will be as well-behaved as cats (which aren't exactly well-behaved, but at least they are well understood).

Tame is not the same as domesticated.

Keeping raccoons as pets isn't a great idea. They tend to over-eat (as you can see) and that causes health issues (like it does with nearly everyone).

IR light *is* IR radiation. Light (UV, visible, IR) is radiation. As are radio waves, gamma rays, x-rays, etc., they are all radiation.

IR heating is when materials absorb IR, and get warmer.

2 months ago | Likes 5 Dislikes 0

IR is "infrared radiation", photons (particles of light) that are in a frequency band below that of visible red light.

Heat is the vibration of molecules.

And you can heat up materials (gas, liquids, solids) via IR light. They absorb the IR photons, and start to vibrate more. They will give off IR photons as they cool down.

None of this that follows is to excuse what that guy was saying...

But I've actually had to catch myself recently, when commenting on areas where I *think* I know what's going on, but don't actually know what is going on. I don't know where this is all coming from, the need to say something that I just made up in my mind, but which has no basis in fact.

That guy just jumped to a conclusion, and felt it with great certainty. I don't know if he was inclined to ever fact-check himself.

Also, the USA was already shaping the world for its own benefit, since the end of WW2. That's part of what the Cold War was all about. The USA has had *enormous* influence on the entire world for many decades. And not always good influence either.
