To clarify something for some of the commenters here. She *has* to insist it was consensual. If she says on the stand that he raped her, it will cause a mistrial. You are not allowed to bring up another crime the defendant did, in order to make him look worse. It prejudices the jury. That's why the prosecution was exquisitely careful to walk around the issue of consent. It has to be bad enough to cover up, but not so bad as to be prejudicial.
Bible literalism is actually a recent idea rather than an old or traditional one.

My dad died of Alzheimer's four years ago and this is the best advice I know how to give. Right now, and just after he's gone, you will find you're forgetting a lot of what he used to be like. When you think of your dad you will only remember this version of him, and the grief and pain of it. I promise that will change. As time passes, you will be able to integrate your memories of him, and you will remember him completely, the whole man. I promise this will happen. Good luck.
